Great list! Even smaller or single-person households can benefit from what you have shared. Though I live with few possessions, I also like candles but didn't realize how much the "lovely" scent negatively impacted the air quality. Glad you mentioned this, as it can make others aware of what may be contributing to headaches/coughing. Thank you for sharing the advantages of choosing to live more lightly. 🌻

I agree with you on the Tupperware. I have traded out all of my plastic containers for glass ones. They do have plastic lids of course but the food isn’t sitting on plastic. Also if you can use one product for multiples uses like coconut it cuts down on your storage. I wish we had known of this years ago.

Good list! We buy only two of those items on your list! My husband and Son buy soda (Coke & Mountain Dew Zero) and body wash, but otherwise I don't buy any of these for myself!

I have 1 thin blanket for summer and 2 thicker blankets for winter, 1 bed sheet and 2 pillow cases. That's all I use, no need for any extra.

I’ve been switching to bees wax and soy candles and staying away from the paraffin ones

I also say no to many of the same thing including shaving cream, body wash (also use bar soap), makeup remover, dryer sheets, fabric softener, bottled water, trendy clothes, specialty cleaners, scented products and excess throw pillows. I would love to completely go with glass food storage however my husband prefers the plastic ones so we keep a few for that purpose.

No oh not video games, I buy video games on sale, but only digital though. I use to have a large collection, now it's about 15 physical video games.

I decided this year that I wouldnt buy the kids any more first-use clothing with the exception of underwear if it starts to ride up and become uncomfortable...and honestly, I'm SUPER proud of my restraint. At one point I counted the number of T Shirts each kid had.... Twenty. Like, holy crap. Who needs 20 t-shirts?! Times two kids!! 😵💫 I'm letting them wear their way through their stuff and when they outgrow it, it goes to the second hand store and we earn money to buy their next size up. But less. Because again, what kid needs a tshirt for almost every day of the month?!

Many of us definitely have a problem with overconsumption! While it is unrealistic to stop consuming altogether, being more mindful and intentional about it can make a huge difference! :)
