Lol it’s normal for schools to start 7:30am here in South Africa. Most schools start 7:30,7:45 or 8am(latest).this is my 4th year at varsity but when I was at school 5yrs ago, I’d get to school between 7 and 7:15am here in Pretoria South Africa and daily school assembly was 7:30-7:50 which we all attended and first class for everyone is 8am

I love the part of ensuring you're well grounded in your subject area to avoid grappling with it when everything else is also new. Great advice. I aspire to come teach Art and Design. Close to 2 years of experience in an international school. Halfway with my PGDE in Kenya. I REALLY PRAY DOORS OPEN UP FOR ME AS SOON AS I GRADUATE THIS.

Good advice Tobi! I’m a teacher moving to Dubai after securing a job at a primary school. Just doing my attestation which is a bit long as I’ve now sent it to the uae embassy in London. How did you find settling in and making new friends? Also how’s your school with content creation? Im on TikTok doing teaching content but I know through some ppl that they aren’t too fond of it

Scaffold and translate as much as possible. Put them in higher sets rather than bunching them all together because the exposure to better language skills helps them. Hope that helps xxx

Hi, I'm planning on arriving in Dubai in the next few weeks. I'll be arriving on a freelance visa. Do you have an idea how long it will take me to find a job as an English teacher (private or government school). I'm from the UK and I have bachelor's degree in English and a CELTA. And thanks for your content. Very beneficial. 👍🏼
