That bear let him escape. He spooked the bear that's all this is why you wear things like bear bells and call out once per minute, that will prevent you accidentally walking up on one. Bear spray will work on curious bears. You'll need a gun if you encounter a momma bear or winter bear

wolf man eaters ? bears looking for their next meals ? most of this animals did behave as i expected, the dog and the snake ? no need for that, make a bit of noise, it would have disappeared, i hate to needlessly disturb animals, they are curious, if they approach me ? i stay put and calm, a fed bear is a nuisance, its looking for a hand out, if i have enough of it i suddenly burst out like i am really mad...the sudden noise will make it run, that cougar might have been there for a long time, above the lady and the tent, i only heard but never saw one, wow i would be kind of scared and yet...??? if it wanted to attack me it would have done so already ? in dense forest with undergrowth, you cant help it but get encounters, if this animals wanted you for their next meal ? they will be upon you before you know it, bears love our easy roads, will step aside, clear the way, as i would do for a truck, lived for years in the woods....more problems with people then with the wild life,

They name that stuff bear spray so you get a false sense of security when really a lot of the time it just pisses the bear off even more and you end up a memory.

i never needed it, not even in Alaska, lived remote with bears close, sometimes REAL close, did not even try to make picts, this animals are shot at for generations, what s the diff in between a lifting a gun or a camera ?

Why are these hikers not armed? If allowed I would carry a sharp spear with me so at least I might have a chance of surviving an attack. I'm not convinced bear spray would deter a hungry bear. For the sake of a photo some of these hikers get way too close.

I feel sorry for the wild animals as everyone trying to take pictures and throwing stones. They have no safe places anymore, no habitat for food. It’s very sad. Some day maybe will only have pictures. I don’t know the answers, only that it seems wrong and makes me sad.

i did give up on making picts, lived in the woods....specially birds are gone fast, i enjoy the moment, the encounter, not to show off some blur of a fleeing animal later, and approaching big animals to make a pict ??? NEVER

I think that big Grizzly knew better than to eat any of those overweight, unhealthy tourists. It much prefers lean ungulates, rodents and ground squirrels. The fat and cholesterol content in those humans would just compromise his/her metabolism!
