Lots of good comments! But here is one you might add; how to cross the street. A lot of Canadians and Americans think that pedestrians get the right of way at a crossing and blindly walk out into the street thinking everyone should stop for them. However, I have found that the Dominicans operate with this logic: the bigger the vehicle you drive, the more right away you have and unfortunately, pedestrians are at the bottom. Always look both ways before you cross the street!

You got it right, that's exacty how it is down here🇩🇴. The only exception are moto riders, those guys don't respect anything nor anyone.
