What about parents who make a shrine out of their childs bedroms after they leave to get married etc. This one couple kept their kids bedrooms as they always had been kept when their now grown up men were kids. A bed and one wall bracket shelf with childhood books and a globe or world educational map remained until the end. Their bed rooms were always there just in case.

Only you know if you can let college go, find meaningful work without college OR maybe move somewhere where housing is more reasonable. I strongly urge you to get assistance with your learning disability, esp if you decide to try college again. There should be help at the college, right? and in either case, PLEASE find a good emotional therapist who can support you in making life decisions and moving forward and finding peace and being easier and kinder with yourself. Sounds to me like you've accomplished a lot, look at that with honest eyes, focus on that and appreciate yourself for the positive things you've done and not on the negative constantly. The questions were lacking in any roundabout goal other than use this guy to make him the representation of their idea of a "lazy Millennial", or whatever nonsense has been fabricated to scapegoat a particular generation. The interviewer was condescending, yes. Quality journalism at CNN doesn't exist. This was meant to net momentary ratings. I am have to live with depression, paranoia, anxiety, worry, sociophobia and everything that because of my parents or environment which made fun of me. And now they except from me that i am somehow will integrate myself in this society these rules really sucks

His parents are the true miserable ones in this case. This is either a broken home or a case where the parents themselves are lazy or too poor to support him in this day in age’s economy of lack of jobs out there. Like you all seem to spewing such hatred on here. Today’s world you must be prepared to support a kid for life or don’t have them. Because he may or may not land a successful job, there’s no guarantees. But if for some reason he doesn’t or can’t you just can’t all of a sudden drop the kid. You as a parent must help him; start your own business and get him going that way instead of simply expecting him to go get a job cold turkey. Start your own business and pay him. It would do him a world of good. Parents sound like they might have mental health issues. This is not the 1950’s anymore. That era is long gone, and they must come up with a plan of action which will work. No more just walk next door to the local hamburger join and asking the owner for a dishwashing job. No one wants to spend money anymore hiring employees. The money just isn’t there.

I grew up with a friend who ended up being like this; finally at 33 years-old his parents couldn't take it anymore and called the police to make him leave otherwise the guy would never have left. He couldn't hold a job, he became very demanding with his parents and they became scared of this large adult man with the self-control of an angry child. Some guys, for whatever reason, just never seem to make the adjustment from childhood to responsible adult.
@tinasan38703 жыл бұрын
This is his parents fault for allowing it to go on for so long. After so much time, the police can't make him leave. They have to go thru the eviction process.........But this guy's problems (just like your friend) started in childhood........Obviously, the parents did not know how to set rules, boundaries and enforce consequences on him as a child. This is what you get.

CaneFu- interesting how the parents take no responsibility for creating any of the character traits in their own son they find so undesirable. I know plenty of children who live with their parents into their 40's due to financial reasons/cost of living. A lot of parents are adversarial with their own children which is a form of child abuse. Have fun spending the rest of your holidays by yourself until you die, mom & dad. Hope it was worth it.
