Something like this happened to me but it's was my boss accusing me of stealing from another coworker. My coworker had my back 300% but the boss wouldn't listen she was just looking for a reason to for me. I never stole that money but still got fired, I later Heard from my friend that they weren't doing too good I got to leave before the storm.

The situation wasn't even reported to the company... and wouldn't have been. So no, the company didn't blame him... greedy direct-boss and sheeple co-workers blamed him.

the last person authorized to have accessed the safe was Taichi himself. So all in all, pointing suspicion at him wasn't actually wrong. It is even stranger that the president took all the money in the safe without notifying anyone who normally uses those funds for work. What if the office needed funds for meetings or something on Monday morning? Surely the antagonist was wrong to assume the blame was on Taichi and more above all to lie about the amount of money. Taichi was wrong to hand over that money from his own pocket. And he should have called the president so that the necessary checks and investigations could be initiated. 300K disappeared from the safe and he pretends nothing happened? He knew he wasn't the culprit and letting time pass would make it harder to track down the money.
