Thanks for the info. IMO I have no problem with a company pointing me where to go, especially with paying by the hour and benefits paid. People can find good union jobs out here that can set you up nice. And only working 50 hrs a week. You don’t have to be away from home and work 70 hrs a week

I would start working with nova lines tomorrow if….the rates were better…or they would give drivers the fuel surcharge. Their business plan just isn’t working right now….better plan = better drivers less turnover more money for Nova and drivers I’ll be waiting for an update on their new plan …. My bags are packed

Use 4 coil racks on big coils like that Look at the strength rating of them 2 is not enough They will break Also you aren’t running enough chains 5 may be barely enough to cover the load rating but because those coils CAN KILL you I would always run 4 coil racks and a minimum of 6 chains Those straps ran that way that you did don’t offer much strength

I was thinking about leasing with them until I ran the numbers In just about any solo lease, you gotta stay out for 3 to 4 weeks and only go home for 2 days It’s brutal Leasing is mainly geared towards investing into the truck It’s a heavy investment and will take everything from you to make it to the end If you have family and you can’t sacrifice time away from them then it’s not worth it for you emotionally and psychologically I’ve been out here for 9 years now and leasing is the toughest thing on a man especially a family man. If you find yourself a decent company and drive as a company driver you can find a much better balance that will make you and your family happier. As far as securement goes I look at it this way; You are already securing the load and have all your equipment out, take the extra time 5 minutes to make sure everything is good to go. Coils are no joke They look great until some dumbass cuts you off and you have to hard brake. Coils in the suicide position will break free and join you in the cab and can kill you. Eye to the sky and shotgun positions are usually not as dangerous but suicide positioned coils are the most dangerous load you can haul. Be safe brother and keep up the good fight.

Bro, if i couldn't make it there gross 10 to 12 a week a few years ago, i know its going to be a struggle at 5 a week gross. Their deductions is just too damn high. But when u leave, turn truck in on last day u receive your check because they will not give it to u. Get your hazmat and tankers . Work local and save your money up. Get on the international truck website and get a use truck with low down payment, then lease on with whoever u want

Fed and State tax will leave you with 65k net. 1099 18-2500k is the same as a W-2 earning. Do the math yourself.
