Anyone else think the last bush ready cruiser was the 105? Modern landcruisers will just be soccer mum cars to me, unless they go back to their roots. They better keep the 70 series in production I swear. Great vid as always fellas

It’s a lot harder to get legal/safe flex out of a 4WD with independent suspension, but modern traction control does a bang up job of countering wheel lifts before you even go for a locker. That said, if anyone’s got a spare camp oven and a set of 35s they aren’t using… we know a guy

even the old 80 need tyres, suspension, lockers etc to work. Same goes for the patrol, Landrovers, pajero's etc. They dont make ANY car perfect, there are always key mods to do. The toyota has been the best overall platform to start from for the last 50 yrs though
@paulgriffiths7399

@@VEOPengineering na no way man. You don't need lockers and new suspension in an 80/patrol to get places. The only mod you would need is all terrain tyres if it has road tyres. These old 4wds crawl up anything. Patrols don't need lockers regardless as their rear LSD is so good.

If you Want to keep your 80 With all the fruit go ahead, its probably more capable too, no doubt. But if you have the money and have an interest in safety and economy these things are great, especially considering majority of 4WD'ers in Aus aren't rock climbing every W/E.

Love the looks of the big rig, specially with the mods. Now it finally looks ready for anything. Though I would personally prefer something smaller, as it would be a daily driver too. I work in town, where it's hard to still find a parking space a big car will fit in. And parking garages, if you need to use one, usually come with a height restriction. What tires do TJM have on that rig though? I know it's a big car, but those tires seem small. Or is that just misperception after being used to how big the 35s look on Shauno's usual rigs?

Hate to be a stick in the mud, but when was this filmed at Kenilworth? Just curious as there are little to no tracks left open due to idiots driving the still closed trails by HQ Plantations. As a local it’s more than annoyed me and my family and friends who all live 5 mins away. Bad enough LCMP has now been taken over by city slickers trying to offset their carbon footprint from their mining companies. This is no doubt going to show more ‘enthusiasts’ that Kenilworth is open. Also LC300 is a massive step back from the former glory of the solid axles and V8s. Dress it up as much as you want, it’s still an over priced shopping trolly. Just my 2 cents.

Didn’t someone at LCMP get killed? Makes sense for them to shut it down to keep the fkwits out when things like that happen

This is Kenilworth mate, yep! Every track we filmed on is still open, at least they were last month. It’s an expensive vehicle sure, but it’s pretty impressive that it can do what we’ve done in some seriously built up 4WDs

If you had the cash to get a tough vehicle for overlanding, would you buy the LC300 or 2018 G Wagon G300 CDI ? They are about the same price. Some LC300 models are actually cheaper than the G300. There's a guy who did about 900,000 km in his G300 GD "Otto".

Looks sharp , still cant understand why any of the makers dont make a fully decked out 4x4 . This day and age with just how popular off roading / camping is .
@bbgames908
@bbgames908 2 жыл бұрын
Because it’s not as popular as you’d think. To think an entire production of a car (that has to pass roadworthy’s etc.) can be solely made for the 20% of Australian’s (if that) that actually get on the tracks as a weekly/bi weekly thing is a bit of wishful thinking. In my ideal world they’d still be selling 80s series and mandatory FTE’s in all of them. Unfortunately most of the consumers of the 300/200 tow caravans or just want to flex they own a 100,000 dollar family wagon.

There aren't too many wranglers, or other jeeps for that matter, here in Australia. There are some, not many. The vehicles you see on this channel are our most common ones, so I reckon that's why they're chosen.
