No steak is worth $1600.00 Now they may charge $1600, but I do not think it is worth it. I have had Japanese Wagyu and they are the best steaks I have ever had. Simply fantastic. I just refuse to accept that it is THAT much better. It is like when you see a bottle of whiskey for $5000. The only reason the skirt stake is cheaper than the flatiron is, because it was a smaller steak. You can’t compare total amount (I.e. 22$ vs. 40$) you have to compare price per pound, and there the skirt steak is 50% more expensive with about 15$ per lb vs 10$ per lb for the flat iron… can’t compare apples with pears

Guga taught me how to grill a LONG time ago. Back before he was well under a million subs. Just because of me, my butcher in rural Missouri puts out a picanha on the shelf - something he was never asked for before. By far my favorite cut now and it's all thanks to Guga.

When I saw this pairing I had to watch it! - I've been a huge fan of Guga and Sonny for a long time and like a fine wine with a great steak this was wonderful. So much to learn and so cool that Guga gave us a look-see into his den of deliciousness. As always, Sonny was a terrific host, educated and entertaining. Guga's signature running dialog was terrific and I even saw some of Guga's legendary camera shots incorporated into Sonny's coverage. Just another terrific example of what a force multiplier Sonny can be under any circumstance 1+1=5

It's interesting because I'm actually moving away from Steaks that are heavy in fat because I've found that I enjoy the taste and texture more of the leaner cuts. This wasn't the case when I was younger so I don't know if it's that my taste buds are continuing to change as I age or if I've simply gotten better at cooking steaks and can appreciate the subtleties of flavors that I previously missed out on because I invariably overcooked the meat.

When it comes to heavy marbling there comes a point of diminishing returns. This is especially true if your hungry and want to eat a decent amount of meat. I've eaten steak so rich in marbling that after a 2 bites I felt nauseous from all the fat/oil and had to stop eating. To me Wagu just isn't worth it, a good prime ribeye cooked over hardwood charcoal is just fine for me.

Considering some of the severe weather they can get in Miami at times, I'd assume he must have a good backup generator. I'd also assume he's got WAY more than $20k of meat in that garage. Those fridges & freezers were PACKED, not to mention the meat he has in the dry ager alone.
