The only reason the skirt stake is cheaper than the flatiron is, because it was a smaller steak. Really good show, however the final question should have been what steak/flavor out of the beef did you enjoy the best , the reason I asked Is this I live in Asia and am Canadian I have tried all types of wagu cuts and I can honestly say for me it's a toss up between a USDA Ribeye and and an Aussie Ribeye , both are reasonable priced per kilo so your not going to break the bank , wagu can probably be described as this , the texture is quite different then a regular steak( meaning tender in a different way then you expect ) and lacks the beefy flavor of a proper ribeye ,of course when the ribeye is prepared medium rare, also Here's a quick tip for the viewers if you want to add a little more beefier flavor to your steaks ie Ribeyes try salting them moderately on both sides place on a plate uncovered overnight in the fridge and cook you'll be very surprised with the outcome 👍

Two of my favorite food KZbinrs together! When I saw the thumbnail, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I swear, Guga is like the Sauce Stache of meat. He's like a meat scientist. I would die to be in your shoes, tasting his creations. Can't wait to see your collaboration on his channel.

Guga rules. In these days they are trying to bring down meat consumption. Don't fall for the bs, guys. The food Guga makes is the ultimate food for humans and don't you forget it.

Freakin loved this. I found you through the Guga collab, and have been binge watching your shows ever since. I just ran in to this episode, and it's like I got to see the meeting all over again from a different perspective, with a different background understanding of who you are. Renewed excitement.

When I saw this pairing I had to watch it! - I've been a huge fan of Guga and Sonny for a long time and like a fine wine with a great steak this was wonderful. So much to learn and so cool that Guga gave us a look-see into his den of deliciousness. As always, Sonny was a terrific host, educated and entertaining. Guga's signature running dialog was terrific and I even saw some of Guga's legendary camera shots incorporated into Sonny's coverage. Just another terrific example of what a force multiplier Sonny can be under any circumstance 1+1=5

Man, I really hope that Guga has invested in some damn good generators for when/if there's a storm and power outage. That would be a ridiculously expensive loss if even one fridge of that food goes bad, let alone all of it.

I would love to be Mr. Guga's neighbor!! As for the meat that he keeps on hand in his home I would hope that he has a 'back up' generator for in case of power failure. It would be a sin to lose all that steak goodness....

Considering some of the severe weather they can get in Miami at times, I'd assume he must have a good backup generator. I'd also assume he's got WAY more than $20k of meat in that garage. Those fridges & freezers were PACKED, not to mention the meat he has in the dry ager alone.

When it comes to heavy marbling there comes a point of diminishing returns. This is especially true if your hungry and want to eat a decent amount of meat. I've eaten steak so rich in marbling that after a 2 bites I felt nauseous from all the fat/oil and had to stop eating. To me Wagu just isn't worth it, a good prime ribeye cooked over hardwood charcoal is just fine for me.

i know people assume food reviewers always over exaggerate the taste of what they eat but I have eaten Kobe and a5 wagyu and my god, the melt-in-your-mouth feeling is truly amazing. it does not compare. I've never had iberico like that but I have had dried iberico Jamon and the oil has a nutty taste to it. If you decide to go to a fancy restaurant to try a5 wagyu, I suggest get the fresh wagyu over dry aged.
