I've ridden it a couple times since the upgrade in the desert and wooded single track. It's nothing but crispy and responsive and even has more bottom end power and feels a lot like a carbureted bike. No complaints from me. The TPI bikes are smooth but feel kind of flat on the bottom end and this was a huge improvement.

Sounds really grunty down low… I’m really thinking about taking the S3 Head off and putting this kit on. Have you been on an extended ride yet?

I’ve actually had it removed for over a year and haven’t put it back on. Since I clogged my spark arrestor. I now have a turbine core silencer and it seems to run fine without the relocation kit.

I personally don’t think it made enough of a difference to justify the headache and possible air leaks and dust getting in through the transfer port plugs. The biggest thing I would suggest is the idle screw mod so you can adjust the idle the correct way with out leaning the bike even more than they came stock. Also the injector relocation pits the injectors in a really tight spot and can’t be removed with out lifting the subframe. Also you can get a envy update for the 22+ model year on the earlier TPI bikes at the dealer that solves a lot of the problems with earlier models. Which adds more oiling in the ECU strategy. My bike is a 300 so power was never an issue for me.

Did you notice if it runs too lean at 0 to 1/4 throttle? I installed a kit on my 22 ktm 300 tpi and it's too lean and detonates at midrange RPM with low throttle input. I'm getting a JD tuner to fix it.

@@ptft4 did you use silicone on the plugs, my bike ran lean had hanging idle, eventually I figured out air was leaking past the threads on the injector plug bolts

@@mathewsharp233 thanks for the tip! 👍 I just checked and there was in fact a little bit of 2t oil on the left plug so might be possible. I put some teflon tape on the threads and will check out if it made a difference

@@ptft4 I put permatex ultra grey on the whole plug 2nd time round just to be certain, not even sure you can tape a bolt that small. I had experimented starting it after washing and seeing if it sucked in the water that catches there, it didn't but one day I hit the starter with the wash plug in the silencer,small bubbles came out the right side injector plug bolt

WARNING ⛔️ You should immediately remove this kit..! THE stock reed cage is shit with metal screws in plastic, they can back out and fall into the engine.. game over .. just get the V force 4R ..

I've since taken it off because I took the bike in for warranty work and haven't put back on. I think if I do that again I'm going to go with the Athena GET kit.

@@lastplaceproductions1223 the GET block has the same design flaw. The bolts that hold the reeds in are exposed and can fall into the engine as well. 👍🏽

what do you mean the screws fall out. Is it because the original cage around the reeds is discarded with the relocation block. Also the 4r reed cage lengthens the intake track.

@@looneyskillz1765 the stock reed cage has protection that keeps the screws from backing out and falling into the engine. When you take the reeds off the stock block to put on the relocation kit you lose the safety the stock cage provides. The bolts are now able to back out and fall into the engine.
