I think you could sell the STL files and make more money. Practically no one has the money to buy a $3000 product. I know there is a plastic version, but even that becomes very expensive in some countries with all the conversions and associated taxes. Do you think that the person who buys an STL file will resell your product? I doubt it, and even if they do, they won't have the recognition you already have. Besides, those who buy your products can reverse engineer and manufacture them or ask someone to manufacture them. Depending on the person's knowledge, just by seeing the mechanism in your videos, they could reproduce it. So, I conclude that selling the STL files would be a great additional source of income for you.

I was expecting you to sharpen the edges of the blade and actually give it a razor edge but I guess this is a start. Was a tad sad and funny seing you struggle trying to slice the bottle. Hopefully the next combat ready video will do just that.

Why not sell a hybrid version? Aluminum is lighter than steel and so it would make sense to keep the casing aluminum and steel for the parts that have the most wear.

my main issue with this design is the massive gear groove itself. anything it penetrates it's dragging back inside the housing and directly into the gears itself.

There are way more problems with this design regarding actually stabbing stuff. It will never be an effective weapon to stab real people with. But he is getting close

@jessekieboom3815 some of his other designs i liked a bit more. Like the 3 mode pulley that was sturdy enough to go through wood. Combine that with the tourbillon dual extending blade and it would be really good. The altair blade is good too.

@@CorruptionManX the amount of force you need to push a blade through someone is very high. Even normal blades tend to bend sometimes. Let alone a blade held back by a small metal lip. The whole blade is extended by 85% while 15% is still in the case. No matter how well that 15% is being held, one good slashing force on something solid like bone or wood will damage it. Creating slack, causing something to bend slightly of something. And as soon something bends ever so slightly your whole system will fail because everything slides very tightly and precisely. Also as soon as blood gets into the system you're done. It will jam the whole thing up pretty fast. I can see this design surviving long enough to win a fight, but the sliding system will fail after the first few real strikes. Let alone assassinate multiple targets in succession. Just stick to a normal dagger if you really must assassinate someone. A sharping stone is enough to maintain it. This thing would need parts changed out and lubricated after every fight. Still, I love it 🤩. But I see it more as an art work, not something practical.

Man, I’d definitely be more than willing to pay for the files it takes to make these. My friends and I dress up as assassins for renaissance festivals and costume parties and I’d love to build these blades for all of us. I don’t have $3k for one to be made for me, but with the files maybe one day I’d be able to make one myself… Man, I’m just begging at this point, aren’t I? 😭

Very impressive! But unless i see you chop wood with it (like how they test real swords/daggers) i wouldn't call it combat ready yet. I understand that would be super difficult because daggers/swords are made out of 1 piece. And moving parts just weaken a system like this drastically. Only by locking like 30% of the blade super tightly without any slack would you be able to pull it off...

I think the design and operation of its hidden blade is incredible, but it is possible to see parts of the frame rusting, for this price I expected something that wouldn't rust. And the lock springs are thin and cheap irons, I mean the irons that move the blade lock and not the springs that eject the system. I imagine that without much maintenance the rust will take over everything.

the resources and components used, as well as the methods with how he crafts these, I’m not surprised with how expensive it is. He probably had to study different mechanisms through trial and error. He’s not a factory, you’re paying for his time. I couldn’t say I could afford one, but some enthusiasts I could see forking out the money for the novelty of it. With Size, the thing is honestly tiny for its purpose. If you had a long sleeve shirt, you could hide it seemlessly. Not to mention, these would probably have to be registered as concealed weapons in a lot of states, things like hidden cane swords do.
