I’ve used 303 for years. I also use this stuff for conditioning second hand parts. If I have smaller plastic parts, I spray it in a ziplock and store the part with a label on it. Owning a car that no longer has parts available, this stuff is a game changer. It also brings parts that seem junk, back to tip top using the same method of soaking in the bag overnight and then rubbing in with my neighbours toothbrush and wiping clean. Plastic clips for trims, they can be really hard to get and the 303 helps preserve them that bit longer.

@@jesus6964 Useless fact, my Holden VZ Commodore uses SAAB cup holders. They fit vertically on the outer edge of the centre console. You press them in and they extend out. Then a ring unfolds to fit the drink in. Comes from a time when GM owned SAAB. Has SAAB printed on the side when removed from the car. They also use Opel B-Pillar trims.

I use this in the engine bay as well. Keeps the hoses soft and the engine bay new looking. Not just on the day you do it. It looks good even when you pop the bonnet 2 months later, it looks tip top.

I'm surprised it's taken you this long to test this product Jon. I've been using this for stuff for over a decade. Great, Great stuff. I also use it to soak automotive rubber I store in my stock to prevent dry rot. Timing belts, serpentine belts, door rubbers, etc. Spray liberally and store inside a closed plastic bag. For best results, I find if you spray it on evenly and allow 10 minutes for it to soak in, then wipe. Engine bays are also a joy with this stuff. After a thorough clean and blow dry, spray all the plastics, rubber hoses and lines and electrical connectors with this stuff. Leave to soak for around an hour then wipe off. Your engine bay will always look new.

I have been using 303 products for years. I buy by the gallon here in the US and I use about a gallon a year. Use it on your tires for UV protection, your headlights, dash, AC covers on the camper, any rubber gaskets on the doors, boat vinyl. It is not a cure all for stuff that is already faded. The best bet is to start using it right away with anything new. They also make a leather spray, rubber roof cleaner, leather cleaner, RV wash and sealant. I have all of them! They also make a Graphene wax that I just tried on a 2009 Subaru and it came out amazing.

If you want to rehab faded cladding on the outside, you can wash and dry the car then scrub the 303 into the surfaces using a melamine sponge. That scrapes off the dead material and coats at the same time. I usually go around the whole car then wipe the residue on a second pass. Also, you can spray the 303 lightly into a paint brush and brush the vents. Then, later, dry the brush and go over the vents again. The dry brush will remove all you need to. Also, I've even used it on seats with a leather cleaner pad and it worked great. That's modern coated leather of course. And yes, you can spray the whole engine bay with it then use a blower and paint brush to smooth it out. I've used it on black motorcycle engines that way and it works great and lasts. And no, I don't work for the company.

Excellent product i bought this after seeing the Detail Geek use it in his professional business I've not been disappointed by its performance, i apply it with a microfibre pad and it really goes a long way, really impressed by its under bonnet longevity and makes cleaning the area easy during the wash process, i applied it once and only reapply when i feel it's losing its effect which can be months rather than weeks, be interested when this goes up against the competition in a a comparison test.

303 was one of the first trim protectors that I bought years ago. It's not something I ever bought again. Doesn't last long at all on exterior trim, expensive as you said but it also doesn't like getting wet - I am sure this is the one that goes all streaky when it gets a bit of water near it, unless they have changed the formula since I last used it. Poorboys Natural look went a lot further and less watery, just drop a bit on MF applicator and can do the whole dash. Currently trialling Bristol Detail Centres pink interior trim detailer which is really nice so far and lasting well.
@tonymontana897
@tonymontana897 Жыл бұрын
It wasn't really designed for exterior trim rubbers. There are other products for that. I'd use a ceramic based product for exterior trim. This one is mainly for interior stuff and under the hood. Do your door rubbers with it to keep them sot and supple. Repeat every few months. I like to spray it on wet and evenly and allow it to soak in for an hours or so. It needs to penetrate a bit before you wipe it off. That's getting the most from it. Give it another go and you'll see how effective and good value it is. A 500 ml bottle lasts me a year or two easy.

Nice video Jon as always. Ive used this 303 for several years with no issues. Here in US recently started using a 303 graphene product made for the black plastics on exterior. I was amazed at how well it performed on a 20 yo black truck bumper and plastic bed liner. Not greasy and have had it on for 5 months and can still see a difference. Alcantara is composed of about 68% polyester and 32% polyurethane, making it 100% synthetic, and inorganic. its a type of microfiber, actually, giving it increased durability and stain resistance. at least that's what wikipedia says.

Been going through a bottle of this stuff that I have owned for a few years on the interior of my girlfriends car. I never liked using it on the exterior as I found it streaks when wet. Once its gone I'll not be replacing it as I find CarPro PERL much more economical. I dilute it 1:4 and spray use it for plastic wheel arches, I just spray it on and leave, I also use this method on the front grille of my A3 as its quite intricate and is a pain in the ass doing it by hand. So I just lob it on and wipe up the excess. I dilute it 1:2 and use it for the tyres with an old microfibre cloth, very quick and easy so I can crack on with other stuff.

Says on the bottle not recommended for exterior use if i remember correclty. You can but It doesn't last, it's not weather proof. Interiors, I apply some to a small round applicator. I goes so far that way, you dont' need much and coverage is really easy (and fast). On the tops of rear interior and the black, plus dashboard, i'd leave it wet to soak in then microfibre level off after it's had some time to permeate. Use it on seat belt red button after a brush clean of apc and the red starts to come back - was amazed at hte before and after. You can use in the engine bay. I have many times and the plastics and pipes come up like new. This product works best on an absolutely clean surface so engine bays, especially prep is key although it will affect the result on the interior too. Give it time to soak in. I've had my larger bottle for two years and not finished it yet. Done at least six vehicles with it, in addition to the three cars, those being my own. I'll def buy another but just for variety im looking to try the garage Therapy offering next.

Not used this, but the best thing in my opinion for interior plastics is Poorboys World Natural look. Nice smelling and a very nice long lasting dressing. It’s a blue cream type product, wipe on liberally with microfibre cloth, leave for a few minutes then buff off. I’ve seen results from the 303 on engine bay plastics and everyone says it’s a great product. Anyone tried a direct comparison 303 vs the poorboys for interior plastics? The poorboys works well on the dimpled plastics if you apply it liberally as it fills the lower spots. Looks like the 303 sprays over but when you wipe over, you are only wiping the top surface. Perhaps I’ll have to buy the 303 and give it a test, although I’ve been using the poorboys for years.

Hey mate, I saw your reply to my previous comment, but for some reason I can't find it to reply to. What you're saying about the price is totally correct, 100 quid for 5 liters isn't cheap, which makes it pricey to use on this side of the pond. Not sure about the UK, but here on the mainland, the general rule on products imported from the US seems to be the US sales price plus roughly thirty percent for import taxes and vat and probably a bit on top of that as the importer has to eat as well. When I check out amazon and walmart, those 1 gallon bottles go for $60 so adding 30 percent to that would make it $78 (62 gbp) for a gallon. So perhaps there's 13 quid for the importer there.. Best deal I've found so far is ordering it from amazon US directly (68,50 gbp) including shipping & taxes

I've been using Chemical Guys Silk Shine for both interior and exterior applications and am generally happy with it, though I will give this 303 a try because I like the matte finish it leaves, and that's really what I'm looking for, Silk Shine does also have a nice matte finish but can be a smidge greasy. I've used 303 speed detailer for exteriors and was not particularly impressed, not bad or anything but was able to get a gallon presentation of Griot's speed detailer at less than the cost of two 470ml ish bottles of 303 so no comparison there. I am also genuinely curious of the UV protection properties. I live in the Mexican desert and the UV is brutal in the summer. Interior UV protection is handled by tints all around so I'm not too concerned of that aspect, but that's something that I always look for in trim restorers and sealants as it's really easy for cars here to get clearcoat failure if you don't have proper car wash technique or never bother to wax the car once.

In the States, the best external coating for plastics, is Cerakote and or Malco Revive Nu. Many detailers on youtube, such as Brian from Apex details has tested these products with excellent results.

@@chrisryan3445 whats the typical dilution ratios for CarPro perl on interior plastics etc for slight sheen ? I understand we have to strip the panels of all contaminants first to avoid smearing and streaking etc

@@rxdetailer1424 1:5 for interior approx. I usually use a standard weak mix of an APC after dry brush and vac for dashboard/door cards/etc before starting. You just want to get off any fingerprints etc before applying as it will leave a different finish in those spots you miss! Also don't let it dry, especially now the weather is getting warmer, follow up with a buff.

Used this for years and works well especially in hot, sunny climates as holds up to UV well. Have since moved to CarPro Perl which is now my preferred option but 303 is decent stuff.
