Fascinating lecture about a man whose works (and life, of course) have meant much to me during the 67 years I have so far wandered over this planet.

I love Rick Roderick . Thank Hank you for your posts. I am a little surprised that Camus is so quickly referenced and moreover that there is not a lecture from Roderick devoted to Camus ( that I am aware of). According to French philosophy “talking head” Michel Onfray in a lecture on Camus ( who he describes as “ impeccable “ ; a true revolutionary ; a philosopher of and for the people ; not a nihilist etc… . In any case , he did spend some time comparing and contrasting Camus and Sartre - suggesting Sartre perhaps felt threatened and even accused Camus of being a “ right wing “ thinker, going on to describe him as well to do , of good pedigree , educated and more or less bred for his position. Camus was poor , did not initially understand philosophy, his mother illiterate , etc. . Even going so far as to point out that Sartre and Simone De Beauvoir traveled to fascist Italy and he only wrote of the prosciutto and how they attended a fascist parade and paid a reduced rate to attend; and that they attempted to hide that they worked for Radio Vichy. the popularity of Sartre may be eclipsing some facts of the time. Again , I love these videos and Rock Roderick and appreciate them being uploaded .
