This is easily the most unreliable printer I’ve ever owned. Power module had to be replaced, and now the second module went dead after I unplugged it to relocated the printer. Plugged it back in and now it does nothing. It’s a shame because when it works it works excellent.

I ha two HP office jets one is an 8610 and the other is a 8620. Both of them are giving me a printhead error. Missing or not installed properly. Is there any way to reset them? I have shut off and unplugged but still get the error. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Try removing ink and printhead and make sure the contacts area of the printhead is clean and same area inside the printer as well. Install only printhead and close door to see if error went away. If error did go away and printer is prompting to install ink, do so. If error comes back after inserting ink, one or a few of the cartridges are faulty. Hope this helps. Have a great day!

What do you do when the ink cartridges aren't moving at all and the printer keeps saying it's a paper jam? I've checked multiple times no paper jam but I can see that the ink cartridges are not moving at all. Unable to use the screen to try to reset as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Hi. The ink carriage may be stuck due to ink build up on the bottom of the ink rest area. Try to manually move the carriage when printer is unplugged. Don't force it. It should be able to move. Check if there is anything shoved to the side of the printer, a piece of ripped paper, or so. Use flashlight to see inside.

Hey I tried moving the ink cartridges while printer was unplugged they moved perfectly until I cut it back on. I can hear them trying to move forward but nothing happens. When you mentioned ink build up on them how long are we talking about it taking for the ink to build up because I print a lot more than the average person I feel like and replace them with new ones frequently. I don't know if that makes any difference or not as far as the ink building up. But I have noticed that I can hear what I will call the printer dragging slowly as it prints out something too. But if it is supposed to be cleaned manually and it probably does. I don't know the first thing about how or what to take apart to clean it or what to use either. This is the first one I have ever heard one dragging sound like that but I have probably printed more with it than all the other ones combined too. I took a flashlight and looked everywhere possible inside the printer and where the paper is inserted in the back and I can not find even a sliver of paper. Any suggestions what I should do next? Hi, i had discovered by myself the full service menu that is not that in the video , it is on a Officejet 6950C with a very similar lcd panel, there is the same menu of this video plus others, unfortunately neither partial nor semi-full reset resets the counters and my fault persists, that is printing near white pages, only a little blue.. i think firmware is possibly corrupted..

Thank you for this video! Was wondering if you're had anyone mention issues with this printer model (mine's a OfficeJet 3833 vs 3830), where printing is super slow? It just started recently out of the blue for me last week, and is taking ~40 mins for 1 page, black and white, either from PC (USB), WiFi, or, internal Demo Page... Troubleshooting I've done: - I disconnected the USB & disabled WiFi, and tried to print a "demo page" from the printer's menu, and it's still ~40 mins to print for the page... - reinstalled drivers (just for fun) - I'm on the most recent version of firmware, but was hoping to find a way to re-install the firmware... but no luck :( I really don't feel like buying a new one, as I think we've had it for just over 1 year, but at this point not sure what other options I have ? :S Any feedback appreciated!

Hi. The usual reason for that is settings. When sending the print from PC, your settings for that printer may be set to wrong paper type or print quality. Check to make sure your default setting is set to "Plain Paper" and quality is NOT set to "Photo" or "Best Photo" Let me know how that goes and if anything changed. Did not fix my problem. It still prints in black and white and now I have a notice that comes up on my computer telling me the computer is offline. I went from one problem to two. Will continue to see what's going on because I have had problems with two different inkjets since going to Windows10. Thank for the help.

Every time hp installed a new software, my printer didn’t recognize my laptop and if you called hp customer service, they connected you to a company in India and the guy charged you $150 for one year, $250 for 2 years and $290 for 3 years for printer maintenance! It’s just a robbery from hp.

When my HP desktop updates, it messes up the printer. Constantly asking a friend to come over and go through the menu to resist it. Frustrating! I’ve had those problems with speaking to India. More frustrating conversations. I was suckered into paying for a service and couldn’t get out of it. They kept telling me I owe them approximately $450! I wouldn’t pay it. They finally stopped

Check settings on your laptop. Most likely your printer settings are set to print in black and white only or "grayscale". You may also need to uninstall the printer and install again on your laptop.

I had exactly the same problem with mine. I knew that the printer was OK because it worked on the desktop but not the laptop. I realised that there had been a Windows 10 update recently so I reluctantly restored the laptop to factory settings which got the printer working again. They now want me to `upgrade` to Windows 11 !

I have the HP Officejet 3830 printer. It has NEVER printed in color for as long as I have had it (bought it new). From the very beginning of your video, my menu has not responded in any way which you describe, but it prints in black & white, though I get error messages occasionally. It says that it does not detect the scanned "Alignment page," either. I am so disgusted.

If it is looking for thr alignment page, go to the Setup tab by swiping left on the main menu and then select Align Printhead or something like that. It should print a page that you will then place in the scanner. Close the scanner on it and you should be able to proceed with alignment. Might help you out
