(304) ACRYLIC POURING Beach Swipe Using Ready Mixed Paints (Extended for Economy and Pretty Cells!)

I have never had a failed swipe (unless my color choices were bad...it happens!) with Artist's Loft Ready to Pour paints which I have extended with a glue and Floetrol mix. See below for details on recipe and colors.

Today's colors were mixed 1 part paint to 1.5 parts of my PM (5 parts Floetrol and 2 parts glue). Colors used: Artist's Loft Ready Mixed Paints in white, Phthalo Blue, Aqua Green, Turquoise, Bright Red, Green and Warm Yellow.

Gorgeous beach pour. Lacing on the sand really sets it off. Yes, it’s was quite a success. I really like how you mix colors to get exactly the color you want. Nice lesson on mixing a sand color with this. Overall great video as usually. ❤️.

Anyhoo this is a gorgeous sea scape painting unfortunately I can't follow your recipe as we can't get artist loft paints in Scotland. But will try with another brand of ready made paints. First thank you for answering questions. I did my first painting and it turned out pretty good. So I started my second one, Well not so good. I hate it. Here is the question, what do I do with the canvas now? It has dried. Can I paint over the whole thing with white and if so matte or satin or does it even matter? Is one coat enough? I have artist loft soft body satin white. Thank you

If you want to paint over a painting you don't like, you can apply a couple of coats of gesso, sanding lightly between coats, before repainting. (If I know I don't like a painting, I take it outside and hose it off! If I've let it dry first, I'll do the gesso thing, or not bother and just use for experimenting a technique or color combo. I would only do the gesso thing if it's a quality canvas. If it's a cheap one, I figure it's not worth my time!)

Feel like this is another stupid question but here goes. How much is 1 part? 1/4 of a cup? An ounce? How do we know how much to start off with. Thank you ,for replying to a beginners questions.

It's whatever unit of measure you want; a teaspoon, an ounce, a cup, a gallon! So for example, a recipe calling for 2 parts Floetrol, 1 part paint and half part water could be 2 ounces Floetrol, 1 ounce paint and a half ounce water.

Thank you . I am trying to do a 10" canvas and it calls for 4 prt paint to 8 parts floetrol to 1 prt water and 1 drop of silicone. It just sounds like alot of floetrol. Thank you so much for taking your time to answer my question. I really appreciate it.@@ChrisJeszeck

You're welcome, hon. It's tricky...you have to be part mathematician, part magician to figure it out sometime! Just be patient with yourself, limit your colors and get your consistency the same for each color.

Sorry, another question. Can't you use any acrylic paint? Isn't all acrylic paints ready to pour? Hope this is not a stupid question.

Not a stupid question! Unless the bottles are specifically labeled "ready to pour", they need to be mixed with a medium of some kind in order to be used in acrylic pouring. Check out some of my other videos, too...I always give exact instructions and "recipes" in the description box. 😘
