Tadpole really articulated what happens in my brain. When I'm working in real life or doing other things, boring chores that sort of thing, my brain is always sort of half thinking of the current project I have going in my Minecraft world or the next project I want to do or build I'm working on or something I might be struggling with or what have you. It's a definite mental pull... It's a great way of putting it ❤

Mojang said they added pickaxes into the chest to encourage mining out the structures because they noticed players weren't in testing, but this could be for two reasons. One being the one Joel mentions- you don't want to mess with the design of the structure to ruin your experience. But I also think a much more likely reason is because people usually make worlds in snapshots to simply test out new features, not to have a long-term survival experience where you are going to building a lot. Also, many players who are non-builders find copper to be useless beyond a few copper ingots worth of recipes.
