Have SCARs and the Revolution PD. Revolution is lighter and full of features at a lower price, on an AR platform. Its design is pretty genius and all makes sense. Really excellent for its price, not as accurate(and a bit more ammo picky) or as nice to shoot as SCAR and heavier AR10s like the DD5v3 etc... Definitely a nice do-all piston 308 at a manageable price/weight, especially if I have to carry it around a bunch, and the 5-position regulator is excellent when jumping between suppressed and unsuppressed. The off setting allows the user to turn it into a single shot to be extra quiet(and clean) when suppressed and/or running subsonic 308.

I have to say after 30+ years of shooting in 20some odd countries your videos are the best on KZbin and your enthusiasm for shooting comes through on every video...What I really appreciate most is the fact that you don't spew political or societal rubbish and just make it about the products you review...On my second Revolution as 1st one disappeared on return flight from overseas it's a great rifle...

@5:27 The BHO button in the trigger guard is taken from the HK G36 design, which I'm taking as well for my build. Another one i find interesting, i forget who, uses the mag release button to double as a BHO function. Drill baby drill! CAD is fun.

.308 AR15? - POF Revolution Piston No. .308 in he AR platform is called an AR10 or an AR308 if not an AR10. The difference is in the rear configuration cut of the receiver.

Sure is a lot of Jonny know a little bit’s in the comments that feel very confident in what they think they know. A POF “Revolution” is a shrunk down pattern to AR-15 size in 308 kinda the DPMS G2 that uses AR-15 length BCG ect…… The Q Boom Box is based off this pattern as well.

@@gadsdenjim8785 The lower receiver is larger to accommodate the larger .308 cartridge than an AR15 lower receiver designed to the size of 5.56/.223 so it is not an AR15. If it is not an AR10 by the rear of the receiver then its an AR308. You are still wrong.

​@rbm6184 dude, they shrunk down the lower receiver, bcg, and other parts to be similar sizes to the ar15. The rifle itself would be more akin to an ar15 chambered in 308 than an ar10 or dpms rifle.

Very cool! So this is all about the light weight. Getting a .308 close to 7 lbs. is not easy (especially with a piston) and so far the Ruger SFAR is leading the pack at 6.8 lbs. Anyone can make an 10 lb. 308 to shoot steel, but those of us who use the rifle to hunt can tell you that hauling around an 10 lb gun plus mag, plus supressor, plus thermal sight means a 15+ lb gun and that is a no go. I would love to see you do a comparison with the SFAR.

No, Ruger didn't lead anything. Ruger copied POF Revolution and Rouge to make SFAR. It's not as nice as Revolution or as light as Rouge(at 5.95lbs).

The POF DI weighs the same as the Ruger. Comparing the Ruger to a POF however is like comparing a Palmetto State Armory to a Lewis Machine and Tool AR. Different ends of the spectrum.

I own the Revolution DI. I have no complaints as I prefer DI (no hate on PD). Basically, POF is an awesome manufacturer. I would, however, like to get the precision 6.5 stock shown here. I did switch out the break for a linear comp. Yes, the stock break is super loud. PRICEY!!!

Interesting, yet the RUGER 308 SFAR weighs less and costs nearly $2000 less; that's money that could be better spent on good quantity optics and accompanying gear. Nice rifle, but those "boutique" prices are a bit stiff.

​​@JohnZ556 fan boy stuff is nice, but in today's economy, economy becomes more important. In the gun world everyone is creating knockoffs of everything, including the boutique shops. The Ruger SFAR is a MOA rifle at under a grand, the shavings can be better spent on good quantity optics and accompanying gear instead of paying for a vanity brand name.

@@bill2292 It is stupid to disqualify innovation and improvement just because they're on AR. Otherwise why would we have modern ARs? Did anyone make a commercially successful AR15 chambered in 308, both in piston and DI in such a hybrid design before POF? No. Did Ruger copy that formula to make a cheaper product? Yes. Did they make it different enough, leaving alone tech such as E^2 chamber so POF probably won't sue them? Yes. You must never contribute to any meaningful IP.

@@Fordgroup00 pretty much just an ar15 capable of shooting a ar10 round. At the end of the video it shows a good view of 3 lowers and u can really tell the difference in thickness there. Usually the ar10 is built heavier more metal between the internal trigger housing and the outside wall of the lower where as this has the same thickness as an ar15. The springs wre usually also lighter in the ar15s and the trigger doesnt usually hit as hard on the ar15 vs ar10. There are some slim ar10s that prob look similar but theres 2 types of ar10 0platforms armalite and the dpms this gun follows the same pattern as the armalite. If u tried sticking an armalite ar10 upper on a dpms lower they wont join up. Im a fan of this rifle cause my 20 inch dpms is heavy af to carry around for a long time. Then add a 60rd pmag and it is stupid heavy. Well 3 types with this falling in the slim category. I havent seen any dpms with a small frame all been the armalite platform for ar10 thats of a smaller frame. One perk is trigger upgrades and parts are usually cheaper for the ar15 but its not like u can swap out that bolt carrier if u wanted to thats a special part thats gonna cost u to replace.if h have a ar10 and ar15 just take the upper off and look at the difference of the 2 the 10 is usally a thick girl. U could get a multipcaliber lower and that will allow u to use some different caliber uppers on your ar15 lower. Just got to start paying closer attention with what u are buying for ar10s cause if u typed in ar10 on psa it would just pull up all armalite and dpms together so just cause thats what u typed in still got to read. Was planning on just swapping 20 inch onto my 16 inch 308 uppers lower but then realized they was different so had to buy another lower and buy another triggertech diamond. Which is over 130 bucks cheaper for 15 vs the 10.

I was looking at these a couple years back when they were first released. Can't remember if there were any cons or failures in the first design and I thought there was something that turned me off or maybe I was waiting to see how they would hold up over the next couple years from other peoples review. So, seeing this video is 2 weeks old, is there any new updated re-design of when it was first released or is this the same exact platform without any re-designed updates? Would appreciate that info because this is exactly something I'm looking into again. Thanks for the video and appreciate the bible verses! Subscribed! Be blessed!
