We left Cam Rahn Bay South Vietnam and were stationed at Hurlbert Field next door to Eglin AFB. The 20th SOS Green Hornets was a UH-1N Huey squadron and I was a door gunner. We were the taxi service for the Army's Special Forces which was a part of MACV & SOG. We jumped the fence into Cambodia and Laos where we weren't suppose to be. I got paid an extra $4 a day for that job. Good thing was beer was only 10 cents a can. There is a hanger on Elgin that you could have snowball fights in July. They could change the temperature from Desert to Arctic.
