Interesting tip about skipping the highest note but thinking about it before moving back down to something lower. Your brain is helping your vocal cords adjust to it mentally. I’ll try that in my next warm-up!

So, here's a question: does anyone else get a sore throat when they sing lower than their typical range? Or higher? Or even if you haven't sung for awhile then start singing again? I get a sore throat for all of the above. I'm breathing from my diaphragm; holding my head up; etc. I don't really have any vocal training (just instrumental). I've sung in choirs off and on and have always sung to the radio. 😉 I'm technically a second soprano but prefer singing alto. However, I never used to get a sore throat from singing...even when I was lazy and didn't breath properly. This has only been in the last decade or so. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent getting a sore throat from singing other than NOT singing??

Are you warming your voice up before your practice? That is critical. Make sure you are not straining or over practicing as well.

@@30DaySinger I'm not warming up. The scenario where I end up getting sore throats is after singing along with favorite music while cleaning. It's usually after an hour or so when it becomes uncomfortable. I never thought of actually warming up beforehand, but it sounds like something I should do according to what you said. Does it take long to do warm-ups? How does that help?

damn I got every high note and every low note except from the very last one, what does that mean? I'm not sure what category i come under I've been told I'm an alto but also been told I'm a soprano? I'm so confused :(

It just means you should keep working to expand your vocal range. You can find out your range here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6O5nKyXgracias
