Never heard it called color work before. It's my favorite way to crochet. Making book bags doing this right now. I prefer using the afghan stitch to do this (also known as Tunisian crochet). I usually call it a pattern or cross stitch. Way back in the day, you used to cross stitch over your afghan with the pattern. The part that sucks is having to have multiple balls of yarn of the same color to do the work.

I think what she calls colour work is both tapestry crochet and mosaic crochet?

Color work is a term for any project where you are using multiple balls of yarn and colors. It is not a specific technique. You can do color work in stripes, granny squares, mosaic or graphs, for example.

I made the sunflower coasters (I think it was the second one you showed, with the slightly open petals) for my desk and a couple coworkers. So easy to do. I’m going to look into those slice n bake cookie coasters next.

Soo let's talk about that bat print. cause I'm obsessed! It's not traditional tapestry colorwork where you change color every few stitches. It's a different technique called Mosiac or Overlay. It's worked in stripes with dc stitches worked into stitches of the row below. the bat is from SixelDesigns and they have some pretty awesome tutorials on the technique on their youtube channel.
