What I wanted to tell you long ago: I started painting again because of you after almost 3 decades. (I thought I would have to concentrate a bit, I am a musician and a writer, both successful, but also time-consuming). Painting I missed so much over the years, a part of me missed it so infinitely, I was incomplete, but I did not want to admit it. Why, actually? I don't know. Very often someone will call themselves a pencil artist, or a watercolour artist, or an alcohol marker illustrator, but you use them all, from drawing with pencil, pens, inks, to painting with watercolour, gouache, acrylics, inks, and then you can also use pencils and markers. Im seriously so impressed, there wasn't a single letter that dropped the ball here. Really exciting to see so many different styles and mediums and you leaned into their strengths so well. Dear Jess, you literally blew my mind. I have been an illustrator for many years, but then I was diagnosed with MS, and my hands failed me. I can`t draw anymore which, for me, is worse than having to use a wheelchair. But in my heart, I will always be an illustrator :))) This was the first time that I've watched your creations. More than once, this video triggered my deepest emotions. When you were sharing your thoughts, it was as if I was listening to myself :) You literally made me cry... Everything you do from filming, contemplating, choosing the right music, environment, and lighting, presenting your thoughts, speaking in your soft voice, your different choices of media, and of course your realization of your ideas, and even your looks are pure perfection. And when you finished the Alphabet with the letter Zet and decided to go with ZEN I got goosebumps when you said: "I channeled my inner child." 25 times I said to myself: ok, this one is my favorite...and then i see the next one. When I got to 26, I had to watch it all over again! As a child I had a wonderfully illustrated alphabet book with tons of "hidden" objects relating to the letter on each spread and little poems to go with them. I wore it out :)

The music you chose to go along with the different pieces is so fitting, and I feel sooo inspired while looking at the art you've made and listening to the music at the same time. It's amazing how all the colors you chose go along with each other and the shapes are so pleasing to look at. I love the color palettes also! Jess, YOU and your art work are truly AMAZING. It's great to see the dedication and hard work it took for you to complete this series. Sometimes, I struggle with creativity when making art, but it's so cool to see your process of coming up with ideas and transforming them into an actual piece of art. I noticed that you were hopping around between types of notebooks/sketchbooks, etc...do you have a video where you explain which ones you use for what and how you came to make those decisions...? I’ll def try to make one. Thanks! I wasn’t hopping between many. I only used one for planning here the dotted one :) the first time I hopped around from the lined one was bc I was not in the studio when I began planning and I just ended up cutting out the sketches and putting them in the dotted notebook and that’s all I used after that
