When they show the nominees for a comedy award, hold up your t-shirt in your little window that says you’re the winner and when you lose, have the cameraman follow you, still in that little picture and picture all the way outside of the building and toss the shirt to a homeless guy in the same time the winner heads onstage.

"Vigo Venn? Today. Vigo Pen." Surely a poster tagline.

Mmmm, I maybe know what you are saying about equality in comedy, but my comedy hero, Julia Davis, is a master (or mistress if you like) of dark and squirmy comedy, and has always been that way dating back to the early 2000’s, if you take a walk through her back catalogue, written, performed and occasionally directed by herself, in particular of course Nighty Night, Hunderby, Camping and Sally4Ever, four of my favourite series ever! She’s a genius! Hers and Vicki Pepperdine’s podcast is also dark as fuck, and the pilot that the bbc would not commission written by and starring her and Jessica Hynes, that was shown so late at night, (but I saw it) a couple of years following Nighty Night, prompting her to work with HBO instead, in order to be less censored, was so amazingly dark and uncomfortable. So, there are examples of women who have always been at this as well. I’ll come up with more examples (as there are more) and invite anyone who has read this to add an example, but Julia Davis is my absolute hero and I recommend all her work so far.
