Within the Catholic world, a relatively new psychological approach has begun to gain traction: Internal Family Systems (IFS). Fr. Michael, Fr. Chris and Joe Herring believe that this approach is unique gift for our time. While helping Christians make sense of their complex inner world, IFS synchronizes well with their own faith and anthropology. While our hosts are not psychological experts, they want to offer an introduction to this approach, while giving their own testimonies of insights and graces, as a way to encourage others to learn more about it for themselves.
In the course of the episode, our hosts seek to answer many questions, including: What is the main idea behind IFS? Why is this such a helpful tool for understanding our inner world? What does it mean that our "self" has multiple "parts"? What is the "innermost self" and why is it so important? How does knowing our "parts" aid in the process of inner healing? And much more...
