Yes the crackle effect works best with regular mica. And yes you can only use translucent color to get veins. I've had to learn this on my own too so don't feel bad 😊 I've been doing resin for over 3 years now. Have a blessed day.❤

Ut oh, she's on a "crackle roll"!!! LOL It's gorgeous! I would leave it, my usual vote, looks like the opposite of a "black hole" in space. Yep, I've found that quite a few of the white micas have added glitter in them - gorgeous, but sometimes not necessary.

Beautiful! I think you should leave the center the way it is. I like the "spacey" looking one too. I'd love to see more crackle videos. I tried it tonight and it doesn't look like it's working. We'll have to see for sure tomorrow. I'll keep trying. I'm not gonna let it beat me!

Absolutely beautiful. I wonder how it would look with an interference mica mixed with your creamy white. So cool. Maybe purple veins with interference gold.

Love it! If you want to close the hold up in the mold just wait about 20 minutes or so after pouring and suck out the center with syringe until you no longer see clear. About 1 to 2 syringes and it will close up the hold. Also if you change the your clear resin ( your last color poured in) to another transparent color the coaster will look more like a eye pupil. I call it my dragon’s eye. I love cracking effect.

i am new to the resin world , and i don't mean to sound dumb, but if you are sucking the clear out, can you just skip it and only use the 2 colors and still get the same affect?

I think it’s very pretty! I don’t think you should put something on top of the hole, but I think it would be cool to put something BEHIND the hole. Something peek-a-boo. A surprise of some kind. Maybe someone’s eye looking back at you through the hole… I don’t know. Something unexpected would be fun, though.

Coaster #2 is cool, just not what you wanted. The original mold looks super cool! Obviously the silver colorant definitely had glitter in it because both coasters definitely show glitter.

The larger one resembles malachite or black amethyst. Maybe back coating it with an opaque would add some depth to that center.

Michelle I know how to fix the black one I saw it in a tutorial a girl did coasters just plain black then when they completely dried she took UV resin and some gold glitter and made a paste and made star burst it came out awesome
