There’s a group of mini copper owners that travel to Mt Washington every year in June. That Saturday afternoon they shut the mountain road down to traffic and close to 200 mini’s drive up to the top, visit the store, hot coffee or chocolate souvenirs and then slowly make are way back down. Most of the years you can’t even get out on the observation deck because of all the snow and stormy weather and this is in June! Also not sure if you read and looked in weather room in the observatory but atop Mt Washington recorded the the largest winds in excess of 170 mph!! Awesome video!! It’s been fun

My wife Tammy and I took the Cog Train up to Pike's Peak several years ago on our bike trip to Colorado. What a cool way to see the mountains and lakes no-one else gets to see. Someone asked the conductor as we were in a 30% uphill grade at 12000 ft. "What happens if the brakes fail?" She replied that there were two large springs that would stop the train! "COLORADO SPRINGS AND MANETOU SPRINGS"!! Lol. Glad you kids are enjoying life together.....God Bless!

Climbed Mt. Washington in winter holiday break while in an explorers post from Bel Air Maryland. We looked more like an Everest testing Expedition with our gear ice axes, hammers, crampons, gators on boots, wool and down apparel and sleeping bags rated to -30 or more lol. Eventually we all grew older and it took on a hole new meaning in life! Playing in the White Mts in winter ski ing, ice climbing, etc... then summer with trips to the cascades all around Mt. Washington areas. Love seeing you two in this place!

I been told you can see Bar Harbor from Mt. Washington on a real clear day that is 50 miles what I recall. I think I would do the cog and not deal with the hairy drive next time. Yeah my fishing friend went up the road about 40 years ago and when he got where there were no more trees, it scared him so bad, he turned around and went down. I still have a little stuffed moose from there. 231 miles per hour, recorded April 12, 1934 by Observatory staff.

Used to get goosebumps hearing that thing chuff up the mountain. Just about all of New England has been overrun by that militant green mindset for years. Everything fun is gone or illegal. I grew up riding dirt bikes and ATVs right out my backyard. All gone. What times we live in ... :(
