Eddy current solution is explained in this video. This is a simple example were you can simulate and plot the magnetic field created by a coil surrounding a core. You can calculate the core-loss, plot the magnetic field and more.

Hello Kamyar.. please, how to can calculate the induced voltage in the eddy solver, e.g two coils are in parallel ( Coil 1 and Coil 2). if the coil 1 carry current, how we can calculate the induced voltage on coil 2 . thanks

Hi Kamyar, thanks to share your tutorials, are very useful., So, could you share the second part of this serie please? I don't know why are just two parts in the play list. Thank you!!!

Hi kamyar. Thx for a great series of videos on Ansys Maxwell. I'm just wondering, if there is a possibility to simulate axisymmetric desgns (i.e. all the fields in design You are demonstrating are axisymmetric anyways, so there is no point in simulating the whole 3D problem, simulating just the crossection would be sufficient). This would allow to save a lot of RAM and would allow to use a much more dense mesh than it would use in a 3D simulation. I know there is such an feature in COMSOL, cannot find anything similar in Maxwell, though.

Nvm, I figured it out already.

Thank you for the video, it's very usefull! Can you tell me, what are the characteristics of your PC, I mean RAM etc? I'm asking 'cause during my eddy current simulation my PC always stops on "morphing the mesh for curving surface" and never go futher

+Виктория Стрельникова that happens when your mesh size is very large or you have arcs. As I said in this tutorial try avoiding any curvatures. My ram for this simulation was 24GB. But generally you should get same results with 3 GB and above. What you need to do is to simplify your model.

thx a lot! I'll try to do it

really?! I have 8Gb, but than what am I doing wrong if my simulation stops? my colleague said that was 'cause of lacking memory

I believe I answered your comment somewhere else or maybe the app failed to post it. Anyhow, You need a minimum of 3GB of me and dual core CPU. depending on complexity of your design number of cpus can reduce the simulation time. If you are performing transient simulation you need more ram. Generally avoid curves in your design. Use polygons instead. Watch 311 or 312.

+Виктория Стрельникова depends how much you have available? Maybe most of your memory is being used for other programs. Press control +Shift+ Esc and got to performance tab. See how much memory is allocated as available.
