I wonder though, could it actually have been Invictus who insisted that she stay in the background? People are disgusted at how she seems to have hijacked the games and maybe this was their (and Disneys) plan to refocus the attention back on the patron. I still think she held on to him so tightly and wouldn't let go because he was either supposed to grab and hug/kiss her, or he was supposed to take her on stage with him. Or, if he had tried to get her to go with him, she would have made a big show of 'no Harry, you go, you deserve this you wonderful man!' as a way of still making it all about her. But he shook her off while the camera was right in front of them so she tried to cover by rictus grinning and seal clapping, IMO. I also still think they were contractually obligated to attend and couldn't refuse. I loved the lady to one side (an aide? A Disney flunky?) who was urging people to stand up for Harry. Apparently Venus had worn the exact same dress to an event just the other week, no wonder she was giving the wife the side eye. I went to the Staud online store on low and behold the first dress I saw was a lovely red full length dress which looked very similar to the beige one she wore last year when she hung out on the red carpet. Very pretty in red and would have looked much better than the beige one. Didn't look any further so can't confirm the white one. 😊
