In my family we have a 166 year old bible from Europe 1857 passed down from our grandmothers side from when they came to America in the early 1900s to Ellis island and made its way to California, it has a lot of our family’s births and deaths written in it from the 1860s to 1920s It’s always so cool to find out the history on these old bibles

@@lagodifuoco313 That is your opinion, in my opinion there is a ton of evidence that God exist. Evolution teaches that we came from nothing and that everything happened by accident, that's REALLY hard to believe. The bible says God created the heavens and the earth. Now which one makes more sense? Someone creating everything or nothing creating everything? I'm not trying to insult you, but just trying to convince you that maybe what you have been taught was wrong and even misleading. Logic, reason and even common sense tells me you must have someone creating everything rather than nothing creating everything. In my entire life experience, I have never ever seen something coming from nothing, I have always witnessed (and I think you would agree with me on this) is that you must have someone creating something. God bless you my friend and I hope you find Jesus soon.

I had a bible from 1891, it was all i had left from my grandmother, i would try to cary it with me most everywhere. Im from oklahoma, i was in texas a few years ago somewhere between 5 and 10 and our vehicle got broke into and it got stolen. It broke my heart and sent me into a depression for years, i even prayed a whole bunch for it to come back to me. It still makes me almost break down and cry to think about it. I hope it did some good for someone. Ill probably still try to pray every once in a while for it to return, i dont even know why at this point. It was a teachers edition king james, it was such an awesome bible. If you happen across it please let me know.

Vellum is stretched and dried animal skin, traditionally calf's skin. the odd smell most likely can be attributed the vellum used for the pages. "Although vellum is sensitive to moisture (which causes it to buckle), it is far more resilient than paper to water, fire, and repeated handling, and does not rot, ensuring its longevity over hundreds of years."

Its old but u can find an older first English1300 AD bible copy pdf online. The Latin and Original Greek as well. Yes, there all the same, some words no longer use. Bible was written in the context of that period and culture from Hebrew of the Old Testament and Greek in the New Testament.

*I LOVE IT WHEN AMERICANS* find old things. I've dug up 2 Roman bracelets, an ancient Greek penannular broach, Bits of Roman armour and buckles in my garden, they live in the drawer under the sink. We don't have that child like wonder. My sister's house is older than America.

Listen to the story. It's a King James bible. It's an official commissioned bible from the time of the Stuart era, which was mass produced. Other than some spellings, hardly any changes due to mass production. I had one myself. Bored the heck out of me trying to read it though. Kept nodding off in the begats.

The King James Bible is from the Greek and Hebrew scriptures. I am in Greece, and read it with my children, while they read in Greek, IT IS THE SAME. It was compared in Israel and said to be the same. Now days, since they took, "Thou, Thine, and all the old words out,) I wouldn;t trust it at all! Or the new KJV. The evil ones keep changing the BIBLE to destroy it.

Nothing except put into modern tongue for you to understand the context better. We have over 2000 manuscripts to base modern bibles on, the KJV was based on only four. There is nothing really changed for all intents and purposes.

Why is no one talking about the fact that the book clearly belongs to one of the nursing home residents and could have been picked up by a nurse and intermingled with the “public” books in the nursing home library.
