I never realized that there were so many lake side beaches in Chicago the original windy city! I was last there a good 20 years ago, another visit is long over due! Born and Bred in Sydney Australia myself, we have killer beaches with killer waves and sometimes killer sharks!......

Always wanted to see the city of Chicago, and it's beaches when I was living in the state of Fl. Only strip of beach I got to visit on the lakes was somewhere up in Port Huron. It was quite nice, but I didn't like the feel of it. Rocky, weak waves. 79th and Rainbow Beach looks like an awesome place to see. Recommend anything in the state of Michigan? I'm thinking venturing west state would be best to look.

It depends on the day of the week and the weather temperature. Also, southside beaches don't get that many people, but northside ones get a ton. Especially on the weekends.

It really is. That's a limestone, man-made peninsula that's been built out onto the lake. It serves as a revetment wall.

@dan-othahitmaker497010 жыл бұрын
You must be confusing beach with Ocean. There are beaches on lakes. Dictionary . com definition of a beach: 1. an expanse of sand or pebbles along a shore. 2. the part of the shore of an ocean, sea, large river, lake, etc., washed by the tide or waves. See large rivers and lake can have beaches. Also have you ever been to the great lake? Myt lord you'd confuse it with an ocean, no joke.

Yes there are many beaches In Chicago. I have had people in from Miami, California and even Key West who were blown away by Chicago's beaches
