Thanks Knuckles! Awesome stuff bud. Thanks Kent and the Habs for this talk. J'ai adore la discussion 😀 I really like the Habs new take on being more transparent with the fans and media (proxy for the fans). I've never seen two upper level executives from the Habs, Kent and Jeff, get out there and do interviews like they do. It is very appreciated and It is so refreshing to hear directly from the decision makers. It makes the fan feel like they're really plugged into their favorite team instead of mainly just relying on constant speculation and rumors. I like how much emphasis is put into player development. As Chris mentioned, it is been far too long that Montreal's AHL club has stunk and haven't really had many prospects to call up that made any impact. Identifying under utilized young promising players from other teams, who are deep at certain positions, is key. I think Kent and Jeff have that sort of eye. Kent's passion for the game and his hockey "nerd-ness' shines through and I think Habs fans can exhale and look forward to some exciting times in Montreal. Allons y!

1:16:09 my favourite part. Thanks for asking Hughes about the salary cap. Love his insight and the Patrice Bergeron story. I think it would be great if you can get John Sedgwick on the podcast to go even deeper in understanding how the cap works and strategies that the organization is taking in managing the cap.

You are an excellent interviewer, Chris. You never fail to have your guests at ease taking about hockey and themselves. You aren't some polished question tosser. You know the "Show" and your guests warm up immediately as if in the dressing room, just talking. Hockey people are going to hear about you and want to be on. Top shelf stuff!

Wow 👌 Knuckles thank you that was a phenomenal 👏 episode. I got to tell you I agree 👍 💯 with 👍 Chris . What refreshing change with Kent ,and Jeff ,and the helm. Just listening to Kent so easy going ,but intelligent 👌. And I love everything they ve done ✔ here . Great 👍 decision making . And already we see a big improvement to the talent being drafted 👏 😏. M S L as well Great 👍 👌 hire. And I m so glad 😊 😃 to see the alumni welcomed again. That never should ve happened or been allowed to happen with the prior regime. You 👍 guys earned it . And the kids can learn a lot from you guys . An organization like 👍 this should never turn it back on it s alumni. Chantel doing a great 👍 job 👍 too. Finally we have an entertaining team again 👏, and I know it's just the 1 st year of the rebuild, but I m so impressed already with the improvement of this team. To me their already better than I expected, however I know we have a ways to go. It's been since Gainey was g m that I ve finally seen positives in the building of this team. And unfortunately, hes the last bright spot till now . And after that Serge ,but that Serge s time was a little if, but better than all these g m s till Gainey and Hugo . And still we haven't seen the Sam Pollock days since . Mind you ,I don't think they ll ever be one like Pollock. Gainey,and Hugo ,then S.Savard were as close as we got . But Hugo it's just the beginning so far their looking incredible. It's refreshing. I think these guys are going to make this team special again.

Most of our great young players are from the former management team. Yes this years draft was excellent and maybe our best in years but Bergie did a good job here but our new management team is on another level it seems. Suzuki, Caufield, Guhle, Xhekaj, Harris, Farrell, Dobes, Mailloux are all from the past management team. We don't have to bash bergie to praise the new management team.

I think many people hate Bergie because he wasted Price's prime.
@tomcrouchman

@@Elmirgtr I get that. Bergie should have gone and done some big moves that cost picks to get the Center we needed for years. I prefer our current management, but Bergie wasn't that bad and not nearly as bad as many state.

When you said "Wow why can't all these white people get along" it really resonated with me, as the child of immigrants, I can tell you that is one of the greatest observations you could possibly make. My dad always said you are the smartest enforcer because of the way you'd fight guys bigger than you. Your technique of grabbing the guys main arm's sleeve, is something I've emulated in a hockey scuffle, freaking genius they can't hurt you. Love your podcast! Keep it up!

Bergeron and Marchand have an honest and just hearts. we can all see it has blown out of control 11 mil to one player that eats up a salary cap for 1 player imagine when a team has 2-3 high level players gee that can create chaos over time in a hockey team. never forget it is a Team sport. Chris playing young today would get 2-3 million a year he would deserve it

I really like Kent Hughes especially considering im from the West Island too. But at 16:08 when he says you cant sell cars if you dont know anything about cars, having sold cars for 7 years this is actually wrong. Sales is all about dealing with people and managing relationships, not your specific background / knowledge. If somebody truly believes you want the best for them, they will do business with you every time.

there should realistically be and i see no reason for it.that drafted players should get 15-25% of the cap taken away from the salary cap standpoint.not from their salary, only from the cap in nhl standpoint.and only for that teams drafted players.not free agents or anything else.
