@@TheRangerman00 perhaps the dumbest comment I've seen in a while. Do you really think people with a lot of money don't care what they're paying? One of the reasons they have a lot of money is because they DO care!

Thanks for doing these series videos. Super helpful for those of us who weren’t able to make the expo. I’ve watched several. I can’t imagine how much time it took to put these together. The links for each company are super helpful. I agree price needs to be discussed. So many of these products are just not feasible financially for most of us. Many of the companies sites don’t even provide the price.

Nice video. It's good to let people see the whole trailer and not just an edited clip that misses half the stuff that makes them different from one another. But it seems like every one of these companies thinks if you buy their trailer that you're going to be the chuck wagon of the group. I don't think I've got as much kitchen space in my apartment as most of these trailers have. Heck, if two of these things show up on a trip you could start a pop up cafe. I don't know, I poke fun but companies have to cater to the perception of need not the actual use case. A Coleman two burner and a cooler or maybe a fridge and most folks I know are set. Actually, the only person I know with the funds and the impulsiveness to buy a $30,000 off road trailer sold it after one season saying it was too much trouble to fuss with. He went back to sleeping in his Tacoma with the high roof bed shell and tailgate tent. Live and learn I guess.

I’ve went to each website. I knew these weren’t cheap but holy moly. But alas! BRS Sherpa is exactly what I was looking for! Comfy place to sleep and a kitchen that’s all I need. I have my truck for storage and things I need I just didn’t want a roof top tent. As I was watching all the other teardrop trailers I’m like ok I know this is camping but where’s the tv at!? But BRS didn’t let me down they know what a man is trying to do when we take a nice lady camping. Go out in the fall, put on a nice little Christmas movie, play some tunes, and let the fireworks off in the Forrest 😂😂😂

(35:10) I can see regular RV match stick built manufacturers are sneaking their way into these expos by putting on some cheap bullshit. He's calling out all the usual buzzwords you'd find at a dealer, mentioning 'off-grid' constantly. I think you gave this guy way too much time on this compilation of vendors. Looks like in another year or two, overland expos are just going to be the new 'rv and boat show' that be in everyone's area soon.

Pretty much everything seems overpriced. If I wanted to spend over $15k then I would likely just get a full size pull behind with a lot more room and creature comforts. I feel like the type of people looking for these smaller campers are looking for something under $5000. So none of these products makes any sense to me.
@busterboyd4125 Жыл бұрын
@@Ajjakakkaka Just because you overpay for things doesn't make you cool. So stop it. There's a difference between being able to afford something and knowing the value of something. The fact that something sells doesn't mean anything. Just tells me there's a lot of fools out there. When the next recession hits, I'll serve you up a cup of chicken noodle soup at the soup kitchen Mr big shot. You can eat it while sleeping out of your expensive trailer.
@conniefoxx9813 Жыл бұрын
You are certainly correct. I don't care how well made a camper may be, I'm not going on some g'damn scientific, explorational, archeology expedition. Give me something that's reasonable.
@conniefoxx9813 Жыл бұрын
@@Ajjakakkaka You are rude. People with money will piss it away because they can. Just because something costs more doesn't always mean it's better quality, and even if the material IS slightly better, who in the hell wants to spend $50,000 for a tiny ass little camper just because the manufacturer decided to use "better materials" that increases the price but doesn't necessarily increase the enjoyment level? It's like buying a Land Rover instead of a Toyota. Yeah, Land Rover is expensive and a 'name', but a Toyota will last longer and they both are made just to get you where you're going.

"A light truck, like a 4Runner or a Tacoma." Lmao, a Tacoma takes up an entire lane width from stripe to stripe here in Europe and is very long too. What's considered a "heavy truck" over there, besides an F350 maybe?
@davidk66687 ай бұрын
I find that the majority of these trailers are way too heavy to pull with your average overlanding vehicle unless they are modified with regearing and supercharged or V8. These V6, and even turbocharged I4 engines just can’t cut it. Plus they are getting too top heavy and expensive.

I picked up a MARS13 (Chevy version of Blackseries). It has been a strange experience working with Blackseries Los Angeles /City of Industry.... The product has been solild so far (9 months in, lots of trips off road), but trying to deal with the Chinese people who took over Blackseries LA, is insane- No one speaks english. NO ONE.

90% of these are “optional” stuff. My wife wants a place to pee in the middle of the night and NOT outside. Most companies are missing this mark. Other issue I see are RV style stove with glass tops, don’t think that will last long going off-road. 😮

I agree. I bring a small cassette toilet and park it in my tent just for that. It does lack privacy but it even flushes. Ember makes a smaller trailer with a bathroom.
