I had a flying gecko about 25 years ago. Just found it in a pet shop for about $10, and they said I could cohabitate it with my barking tree frog. They seemed to get along just fine. Still one of my favorite reptiles I have ever kept (I had the world's tamest tokay gecko too, he was awesome as well).

i used to work in a pet store..in Agus ONT, called Gator Pets..my bosses would get in all the wierd stuff..back when their were zero regulations...my bosses got in several chinese water dragons....i regret to this day not getting them..one cause of how rare they are here and two because they were just great to handle, very docile, relaxed species, very interesting to watch and set up tanks for ...u need a good space with water trees and space to lay out...they need it all...and use it all...just an all round great reptile to have an herp with

Happy birthday Adam! And finally some love for the candoia boas! You should look into getting a Solomon Island tree boa at some point! Captive bred and already on rodent feeders would be ideal, but talk about the perfect arboreal snake! Imagine an Amazon tree boa with the temperament of a ball python!

I've heard of chinese croc lizards, white eyed croc skinks, tentacled snakes, spider tailed horned vipers, mata mata turtles, tuataras, gharials (they have them at the St. Augustine Alligator farm if anyone want to see one in person, hairy frogs, spider man lizards (didnt know what they're called but I've seen them here in Tampa), pygmy chameleons, big headed turtles, earless monitors, keel bellied lizards, snakenecked turtles, flying geckos, thorny devils, galapagos land iguanas, african egg eating snakes, and the hognose viper. That's more than half, but not all of them.

Happy Birthday! 11/32 were new to me. (I had to check that the 'Spiderman Lizard' wasn't a regional variant of Kirk's agama to be sure that it was unfamiliar. It is related, but distinct). Lunch buffet Lizard made me think of our (Southern Africa) "Eastern Herald Snake" - there is no western herald snake, but it was first described in a newspaper called the 'Eastern Herald'. Some you may not have heard of from within my homecountry (Zambia): The aforementioned Eastern Herald. Burrowing Asp (The bane of the casual snake handler, aka stiletto snake) Turner's Thick-toed gecko (A big chunky gecko of rocky areas; very personable) Purple-Glossed Snake (Almost identical to the burrowing asp, but more inclined to appear above ground and barely venomous) Zambezi Giant blindsnake (rather chunky, somewhat beaked, burrowing snake) Kafue Worm Lizard (Endemic earthworm-like amphisbaenian) Kirk's Rock Agama (Exchange red for yellow in the spiderman lizard) Angulate Dwarf Gecko (Tiny, short-lived, reticulated geckos that are everywhere around houses and gardens) African Dwarf Mud Turtle (Smaller than most of our Pelusios terrapins, but no less stinky) Rhombic Night Adder (main 'model' for Egg-eater mimicry - somewhat venomous but quite well mannered) Snouted Night Adder (occasional model for egg-eater mimicry - enough venom to be upsetting for a short while, but docile and rarely recognises anything below as a potential threat, so often handled). And an amphibian as a bonus: Marbled snout-burrower (Pig-faced frog that burrows with its face).

There were some good ones on that list😁 think my favourite had to be the big headed turtle😅 I've got another one you could have added... Casqueheaded tree frogs😁 there's a few different species but I keep triprion petasatus😊 really not very common but have some cool behaviours😁 I was lucky enough to get a couple as a rehome from a friend of mine😊 won't be producing any, though coz they're both males😅 Also... happy birthday🥳

Happy birthday Adam. I was not paying attention to the number that I knew versus not, but there were some that I recognized (not many) So you're just a few months older than my sister My sister who's a decade younger than me. She turns 32 in September and she has a cresty named echo! Actually not that long ago. She also technically had a leopard gecko for a while. I never got to meet that one cuz it passed not long after she got it. It was in a bad situation. She rescued it and was trying to bring it back to health but it was too far gone.

Happy birthday! Spidey Lizards were the first I hadn't heard of, which is odd since I live in FL. You'd think I'd have heard the rants about all the exotics by now. Also hadn't heard of the fish scale geckos, the first of the monitors, the big head turtle (omg, so cute!), I don't think the king rat snakes?, the green skinks, possibly the land iguanas, the odd-scaled snake, the sun tegu, the rattle-less snakes, and, ah, the buffet lizards. Funny. I figured I'd only know about 10% of the list, and I knew most of it ^^'

I've actually heard of several of these. My dream gecko is the flying gecko. There was someone at Tinley in October with them. But I'm sure they were wild caught. There is a breeder in Wisconsin that has them. One of these days I'm gonna make the 4 hour drive to get some. First, I need to make an enclosure big enough for them to glide. The minimum tank size for them, in my opinion, is too small. Plus, they can be cohabed. All the more reason to have a giant enclosure. And I really need some nocturnal animals in my life. I spend half the week only awake at night, due to my job. It'd be nice to have some reptiles to keep me company on the nights I'm awake. And yes, I know they are mainly look at only kind of animals. Nothing new to my collection. My beardies are the only ones I have that tolerate being handled.

I've got a Solomon Island Tree Boa which are reasonably close relatives of the ground boa version. She's an awesome snake, but I'd be somewhat surprised if any of the Candoia species get very popular. I don't think any of them are easy to breed in captivity because you need pretty big habitat and multiple males. Almost everything out there is imported or "captive born". I got mine as a long-term-captive and still felt kinda bad because odds are she was imported. I can console myself with the fact that they aren't threatened.
