6:17 I believe that hoglins are scared of nether portals because if they go into the overworld they zombify, so this feature makes sure the only way to get a zoglin is intentionally, plus it makes sense lore-wise since hoglins have likely grown to fear nether portals. As for respawn anchors, the top of the block looks like a nether portal when lit.

14:08 this is to prevent Z fighting. if rails were placed right onto the block a rendering artefact would occur where the rendering engine flip flops between rendering the surface of the block on top and rendering the rails on top due to both peices of geometry sharing the exact same location, practically mashed together.

1) Chest has a custom recipe Reason- The character recognizes that he cant store more in his inventory so he needs to make something in which he can store his items. 2) Being in water unlocks boat recipe Reason - The character realizes that he needs something to move through the water easily so he thinks of the boat. Hats off to me for my brain lol :)

i knew about enchantability from that one time i tried to make a mod years ago, but it's mostly from making modpacks. Sometimes configs have an enchantability stat you can tweak. sort of knew the repeater one since people would build those in some of the early vids i saw. didn't know about most of these though, since they're either new features (and i only just know migrated my modpacks to a version past 1.12), so this video was pretty neat.

Ones I knew: Formatting Codes - I also know that the format character can only be added via NBT editing in Java Edition, and can also be used to configure the MOTD for servers. Love Mobs Diamond Chicken Redstone Bug Hopper Trick - You can also do this by filling a shulker box and then using a piston to break it (since you're technically not breaking the shulker box yourself). Spiders/silverfish/slimes/illusioners having wallhax - in fact, having a spider under the floor is how many of the early redstone-based minecraft boss battle minigames were able to track the player's location before the invention of command blocks. Player torso offset - Z-fighting is when you have two textures layered exactly on top of each other. The Z buffer can't handle this, so it swaps back and forth between the two textures instead, causing the weird shimmer effect we all know and hate. Hoglin scares - this is to prevent the player from getting spawn-camped by Hoglins. Repeaters - I didn't know that the recipe was a reference to the repeater circuits people used to build, but I did know about torch-based repeated circuits. Gold being easy to enchant - This has been documented as far back as when enchants were first added. Honey bottle being full - I noticed this but didn't think much of it. Bedrock is transparent to beacons Lightning Behavior - you can also use lightning to identify the location of loaded chunks on a server by detecting where lightning strikes. On 2b2t, the infamous griefer Popbob used to use this to locate bases to attack. Witchy Easter Eggs - I knew about the mouth and the fact that witches drop sticks (early fuel farms for automated super smelters used witches) but I didn't know the sticks were a Monty Python reference. High value blocks being dropped when mined by hand - I knew about a few of these, but not the tinted glass. Hovering rails - this is also the case with ladders and vines. Corrupted music in The End Warped forest - Warped forests also happen to only have one mob spawn - Endermen. Some sort of relation to The End, maybe?

I think the things Hoglins are scared of have explanations. For those who are confused about the Warped Mushrooms, they are from a biome that might as well be a parallel dimension of the Crimson Forest, and the Hoglins spawn in Crimson Forests. For the Respawn Anchor and Portal, they have never seen obsidian or crying obsidian have a use, so they think something bad might happen if they touch them.

The reason number 16 was designed like that is because of the meniscus and surface tension between the water particles and the bottle particles / honey particles and bottle particles. In real life, water will slightly curve up to the edge of the glass, creating the meniscus. Which is due to surface tension. But, honey has stronger particle bonds meaning the honey will bulge upwards, therefore filling more of the glass.

I think the reason poglins are scared of portals (and spawn beacons) is that they're the only mob that can practically camp a portal, piglins can be avoided with gold armor, endermen are neutral mobs, ghasts and skeletons are ranged enemies with a delay to them anyway and of course, brutes, wither skeletons and blazes are structure specific spawns so you'd have to be VERY unlucky to get spawn camped by one

That's happened to me a few times, walk into a nether portal and while the game is loading I'm taking damage, totally helpless, then I materialize on the other side and die. It's such a helpless hopeless feeling hearing your dude getting killed and losing all your stuff, and having to sit there and take it. The blue wither skull projectiles are called bunker busters and they were introduced to stop people building a wither in a tiny room and cheesing it. They can break most blocks below obsidian hardness if i remember correctly.

The reason why the rails are floating above the block is to prevent Z-fighting. I know this one because I tried to make some custom blocks for a mod recently, and found that whenever you place a block on top of another block, two of the faces are in the exact same position.

I think the reason Hoglins are afraid of nether portals is because they turn into zombified hoglins by going through one. This is the only way to get the achievement for killing every single mob, as zombified hoglins exist nowhere else. Maybe they are scared of death. As for the Ender Dragon being immune to the Wither effect.. It's immune to all potion effects. This was a small detail from one of the minecraft handbooks back in the day, which also mentioned it's immune to lava, fire, water, and enchantments. Although that probably just means enchantments like fire aspect and flame on bows not being able to set it on fire. Edit: Rails likely float so that their textures do not overlap with the block they are placed on. Ladders probably do the same but I am too lazy to check. Yet Another Edit: There is one more exception to the crafting recipe rule. A Boat recipe can be unlocked simply by entering water. You do not need any items.

Fun Fact: The ender dragon can not be renamed or spectated because internally Minecraft treats the dragon as 9 entities rather than 1, unlike all other mobs. Though It might be 8. edit: spelling/grammar

also a dun fact the dragon is made from 8-9 entities because if the dragon is made from 1 entities the hitbox would be to big/small allowing the player to shoot miss an arrow and still hit the dragon/clearly hit the dragon but miss because of the hitbox

I honestly didn't know most of these. I'm kinda happy that you get elytra from the end ships instead of beacons though, you can get beacons before even beating the dragon and elytra feel way more like a reward.

It’s tied to distance, I believe. So if you have your house near or within 5 chunks of your world spawn then yes they will get harder but as far as I understand it’s a 5 chunk radius

7:56 redstone is actual alternative to neuron system for every mob and plant in minecraft. You can find redstone underground because there were minechafts, they collapsed, pigmen were suffocated and redstone is only thing in their bodies which has immunity to decay. @@hacker1oo173 yes, you can verify it yourself, do the same amount of cow and switch your off-hand and main hand items for the 2nd test, you will get way more steak with your sword in your main hand you can also see it in the video, he doesn't get more than 3 steaks and/or 2 leather per cow, but you can get more than this with looting

i think the honey one is actually to make it stick out, and not be confused with something else, or maybe because it was easier for the devs or something, and the nether pig one was maybe for spawn protection? im guessing it either got scrapped after coding it,, and they decided to keep it, or there was a problem doing it with the pigmen, because they can spawnkill you

I think the hoglins are afraid of being zombiefied. That could be the reason for their scare of Nether portals. And in a Respawn Anchor there’s a little Nether portal too. But I have absolutely no idea for the fungi

11:22 this is somewhat misleading. At any time in a Minecraft world, there is a small chance that a skeleton horse will spawn randomly. When these skeleton horses are approached (in any kind of weather) they spawn several more horses along with skeletons to ride them. This effect is completely different from the interaction with pigs or villagers. Spawning a horse and striking it with lightning will not result in skeletal riders. The odds of these skeletal horses spawning are increased depending on the difficulty of the world and the additive difficulty increase based on how much time players have spent in a particular area.

This means if you play on Easy mode, eventually the areas you frequent will spawn enemies as if you were on Normal or Hard.
