It's probably cheaper to buy a mule character slot and equip it with bags.

That works in place of bank storage, but not in place of inventory. There is a lot of junk you end up wanting to lug around

For new players: Just run through Living Season 1 and complete it and you get I think 20 slot bags from each of the main hero :) Which is what I just learnt while playing through it as my Daredevil 😀 Grerat video mate.

I think Gw2 wants to say that after certain amount of slots, extra slots are to be considered a luxury. It‘s great to have a lot of space, but you’ll have to pay for it if you want more of it. I suppose it’s one way for Anet to make money through Bag Slots - and they’re giving us an alternative option to use gold to craft spaces instead of spending real monay.

Important items on the gem store are on sale 2-3 times a year. Patience will save you hundreds, to thousands of gold. I waited for Slot Expansions to go on sale by 30% at 280 gems per slot.

I only ever maxed them out on my main character over a long time buying bag slots when they were on sale, but i'm never making any 32-slot bags for all my other alts as that'd be way too costly, plus I only ever have to worry about bag space if i'm grinding open world metas, which I only do on my main. i always tell new players to instead just get all 20-slots, including a few filter bags if they want, and just slowly buy shared bag slots instead.

@@capolot My main is a warrior, and because of legendary gear and trait templates I play many builds, some damage and some support depending on what's needed for group content.

With the insane price increase of Supreme rune of Holding it's no longer worth it, I used to wait for the runes to drop around 9-10g before but they have doubled. So sad to see cause i really hate buying bag slots since they are character bound.

cheapest bag slot-buying a new Character slot for 800 gems gives 4 bag slots and a 20 slot bag for the price of just 2 extra bag slots....

But isnt there a limit to how many Bag Slot Expansions you can add? Im not arguing that there is, and its possible i misunderstood, but i thought Mukluk said in one of his videos you are limited to 10 total bag slots, which admitedly is 200 your way Apologies if im mistaken, im still relatively new, my biggest bag on any toon is 15

You are correct, there is a limit to bag slots. The point of this video isn't meant to be "bag slots are always better than getting a 32-slot bag", but "bag slots are cheaper than getting a 32-slot bag even though you wouldn't expect that to be the case". That just doesn't make for a very good video title...

@@sscaide Yeah i understood the point, and i kicked myself for not including in my post that i really enjoyed and appreciate the video You pretty much convinced me to max out bag slots before doing bags Although bags are tradeable, slots are not I just need to be sure exactly who my Main is before i start buying gems en masse A game with this much complexity needs YTers to teach us noobs... well everything almost :D

did anyone check the rates for gold-gem exchange? you could actually earn more gold if you buy gems then buy gold back, 250 gold for 1040 gems, for 500 gold you get 2080 gems, which buys you back 707 gold. I didn't know it can be like that... for 1 gold, 5 gems, so 2k gems for only 400 gold, wtf and buying 400 gem to gold is best rate. After few exchanges you can have enough gems to max out bag slots and enough gold to buy 32 slot bags on TP.

I'm not sure, what exactly you try to do, but Arenanet keeps 15% of every transaction I believe (similar to the trading post), at least they do keep a big chunk of gems or gold in a transaction in either direction - so I don't think that works

If you're out of slot expansions, then yeah the 32-slots become a worthwhile investment at that point. But "32-slot bags are suboptimal if you haven't maxed out on bag slot expansions" isn't exactly a great video title...

I don't see it that way. Making the 32gold is the worst value for money option and you don't HAVE to do it. You can always get the 24, or 28 slots. They double in price or something for every 4 slots, and having multiple 32slot bags really isn't all that necessary IMO.

Well, that's kind of the point-they're the worst value for money option if you want more space. Based on some rudimentary math, 24s and 28s don't fare much better as far as per-slot price either.

Not really a scam, you get exactly what you pay for. Is it cheap? No. It’s a luxury item. To be honest if you are the type of play that is comparing bag slots to 32 slot bags then your are not ready for 33 slot bags. Like most things in guild wars it is an end game luxury item for you to work on. For example I’ve play to the point that all my main characters have max bag slots and am now working on larger bags.

They are not a SCAM. I always saw them as a bonus, optional way for people who already reached extra bag slot cap. Added late to the game. And since target crafter/buyer is so rich, they made those bags such pricey. Because they were never ment to exist in a first place. Ability to move between chars is a nice bonus too 👌

Me with 413 slots in my inventory (384+29 shared inventory): "They are not scam, you are just poor." Its a good advice for new players tho.

Or possibly he didn't spend 11 years camping a computer? As a new player I just make a bank character and drop junk on it. Decided to play my bank and brought another bank. $10 for a character is best deal IMHO. Sux that you buy a game and then need to buy characters but no monthly fee means a lot of alts or banks. Worst kind if player is an elitist. Rather go into pvp and get Tbagged.

@@FoulPetjust farm some chak egg infusion, so you can craft the bags 🤷🏻‍♂️ Or just go to casino in PoF gamble your ectos, get 2k gold with a few spins and u’ll get the runes. Free 32 slot bags

this is stupid, get your 32 bags if you want them. You should already have bag slot expansions unlocked on your mains anyways.
