The decision of going Off GRID hasn’t been easy for us. We have REALLY STRUGGLED during the whole year building our Tiny House in the mountain. After much research and a bit of faith we pulled the trigger and bought a Solar Kit System so we don't have to pay an electric bill ever again.

The inverter and battery position makes me uncomfortable but the circuit breaker being in the same place makes me even more uncomfortable. Imagine reaching in there to turn off the breakers in case of an emergency. I’m sure it won’t get to that but I go crazy with redundancies.😅

The battery pack is a very good solution, but keep attention to possible lithium fires. I would try to install the battery outside from your home were it cannot damage you and your home.

Forgive me for the unasked-for suggestion. It appears that you could potentially save some money on heating by looping a black PVC pipe over the sun side of the roof. This tube will become warm enough not to need heating for a short shower. This too can be extended with a warm water store on the roof.

The batteries.. I would place them outside of the building. If somehow (very small chance) go "nuclear" (fire/chemical smoke), you don't want that to happen inside your home, inbetween wooden walls, then also no access to the main power safety switch. Further more: super nice what all you are doing 🌞🌱

I think having the the electrical in the closet seems ideal, moving it to the green house might be too humid and lead to corrosion? It looks organized and doesn’t take too much space in that closet. Nicely done

One finished surface you might really enjoy inside your cabin is picking out some nice burrell wood vineers for the kitchen cabinets... They are an inexpensive and fast way to really up the game. Hi Pepe need a light in the closet And you need to protect the hot water heater pipes from freezing 👍 winter is coming in three months 👍 if you got time watch Luke and Sarah off grid life in portugal he talk about the freez damage To there water pump And there hot water heater pipes He had to replace everything because of a freezing winter he said it was a very costly mistake he learned from his mistakes👍

Gran vídeo. Yo tengo una instalación similar, comprada en rebacas, son unos tios excelentes y cuidan muy bien del cliente. Sólo te diría que probaras a instalar las placas con el sistema de salto de rana. Ahorras bastante cable ya que no tienes que llevar un polo a cada extremo de las placas.

All the battery, inverter, and other box do not need to maintain a certain temperature for optimal useage like say a computer. I would imagine it would get very warm inside that cabinet especially with the door kept closed

it is just the right decision at this point. Gas is VERY efficient to heat water, much more than electricity. During winter only with solar panels it would be very costly to have an electric heater working and would need to invest in more batteries or in a diesel generator, none of them were a good option under our personal point of view. A gas tank last us around 2 months and a half for cooking and heater! we have give A LOT of thought to this decision!

@@renonyxum3966 hi, i normally don't keep answering when I know that most likely we will not get to an agreement, but Geothermal heating cheaper? just the installation would be far more than what we have paid for the whole Cabin to date! how is that comparable to a 24euros gas tank every two months? I know where you are coming from though, and I understand your point of view and actually share it. But we always try to make the smartest, cleanest, and more efficient decisions within our budget range. And gas with a very small consumption fits that bill for now, in the future when we have more means, we will definitely like to have everything running on solar. But unfortunately we cannot for now.

Beautiful garden, how did the piel de sapo taste compared to the ones in the store? How much noice does the solar makes when turning on and off? Do you hear a relay clicking? Any buzzing sound from 1 meter distance?

the piel de sapo was really amazing! the other one wasn’t too good, it think it needed a bit less water. the inverter fans do run and sound, but with the door closed is barely noticeable and also it almost all the time off! no other sounds besides that fan!

guys, what's the terrain type you have bought? rustic? ... I really have doubts around that while deciding which land type to acquire. also, how you guys do to resolve the issue with the postal address for Finanças and the SEF, and all the stuff that requires a postal address?... are you using a POBOX or are you renting in other place? can I buy a consultancy hour to ask more about this?

we bought buildable land, we would not recommend buying rustic, we felt it was such a big headache to try make it work every time we looked at a rustic one, yes there are some exception but for normal cases it is not even possible and or you would spend years trying to make it work. So we 100% discarded rustic lands. Thank you for offering to buy the one hour consultancy is nice of you, our consultancy is more for technical details of the build and gardening, the bureaucracy and planning department part is not something we enjoy very much :)

Not trying to be harsh, but let the dude do the narration, until your english, is some what clear and decipherable. I think if the female slowed down a little & work on english pronunciation it might work. Little trendy of a channel, but to each his own. Solar system looks nice. What did that cost $£€, whatnot? Garden looks like good variety. I'll have to watch some other vids. Some of the cinematography looks cool & interesting step by steps...
