Backing off as you go past other motorists on the Autobahn would add some excitement to their days. I agree with you about the Mini being meant to be somewhat silly and fun. I think this did a great job, plenty quick and funny as hell with that maniac exhaust. My oldest brother tuned up a Mini Moke back in the early 80s. Was like driving a go-cart on the roads. Great fun.

Actually this car should be faster 100-200 than claimed in the video. My 2014 f56s st.1 260 hp goes 100-200 12.9 sec. I know a lot of jcw owners with ~310 hp that go 100-200 about 11 sec.

I drove a chipped Mini Cooper S 2015 for roughly 2 years and I kid you not, this car was more fun to drive than anything else in that power/ price range. The huge windows give you insane surround views and the because it is so short in the rear it really does feel like a small gokart. If you are alone, or with a partner, or simply without kids, go for it. It is insanely spaceious to just drive around if you don't have to transport a whole lot

I like Minis, especially because they are basically BMWs and I do very much like BMW. I dont think I would ever buy a Mini as my daily, because I know what cars I can get for the same price. I am also on my own, so no need for a big car really.

I have something of a classic old turbo vehicle that rather remarkably for its time had a form of internal blow-off, but had thought of making it external for greater efficiency. If I did, I'd not be able to get it registered, let alone drive it. I could, technically, disable it for rego then enable it again, but even then I'd run the risk of a defect notice if the police noticed and wanted to do so. While I agree some blow-off valves can be pretty obnoxious, banning ALL of them is lazy.

Great review m8, i own an f56 cooper s so essentially the exact same engine plus it’s a 2017 pre lci! . Im just waiting for its last big service in 600 miles and can’t wait to mod it a bit, stage 1 maps reach 260 whp without bolt ons but with some accompanying hardware 300 is easily achievable. Robinho's Left Foot my jcw with the right tires and launch control 0-60 is less than 5 seconds for sure ! I haven’t measured it to be honest but I am sure it’s less than 5 seconds. 4.8-4.9 maybe 100-200 best time I got was 10.7 !!

I don't know what they are saying but F56 has been rock solid at least for me. I heard that the 1st and 2nd gen had some issues but this 3rd gen is pretty solid. I just looooove my 2019 JCW with manual...great fun!

People like the car to sound like a rally car with antilag... its an attempt to mimic that sound. If a turbo car is tuned, you'll get an occasional pop/bang when nice and warm. This is a random pop and bang remap. I enjoy the occasional pop, but not a fan of the pop and bang remaps. The car is illegal too, because if it was legal with a cat.... it wouldn't last very long 🤣🤣🤣

I think the car needs a different tune. I have the same setup and it removes the CEL, and the pops and bangs are hilarious. This car sounds a bit muted with only a few bangs here and there.
