2:36 Ford does call it a CVT, but it’s an e-CVT which is constructed nothing like a belt-driven CVT. It’s mechanically very simple and quite reliable. So don’t get put off by hybrid cars that use an e-CVT.

I’m at 185K & mine is going strong! Minimal issues as well. Went through a couple CV axles though. I’m replacing my front end suspension & wheel hubs soon. I tested my tie rods & sway bar links & they’re bad.

I got this code two weeks ago. It was one of them. I get my car serviced at the Ford dealership. This O2 SENSOR replacement was about $700.00. might be a bit much I didn't go anywhere else. But like you said in your video the car drove fine. Just would probably hurt the gas mileage I was told if I didn't get it replaced. This was at 101,000 miles. Lastly I bought my 2015 Lincoln MKZ because of your wonderful experience and I thank you brother.

700 to replace 02 sensor? WTH! Just do it your self. I’ll make a video on it when i can. Enjoy your MKZ in the meantime:)

@321verykind, thanks, yes. I am not mechanically inclined, so I didn't know or think where the location was. But other than that, she drives very well 💯. I wouldn't have chosen a better car. Plus, I wish I had known about this car years ago. I would have purchased it.

It’s easy to reach the o2 sensors! They’re not expensive either! Just need to borrow the tool from the tool store or buy one.

I’m impressed and thanks for posting. Rust is something American luxury brands don’t seem to do well. I have a Ford Flex with zero rust so they can get it right.

Glad you like your Lincoln! We had a couple of the 90's Lincoln Coupes that we did some work on. My Son sent me an invitation for a furnished house he rented on Atlantic Beach in NC for his Birthday. Got a deal because of the Hurricanes. I jumped in my AURORA and was there in 10hrs. Cruising at 85, the water temps kept climbing. Backed off to 75 and ran 1000 miles at 180f water temp. What floored me about the car was I got 29.6 MPG out of the Aurora V8, can you believe that? Hi Test non alcohol fuel. I should have taken one of those 12cyl Mercedes... I could have driven that distance in 8hrs with a jammer.
@321verykind
@321verykind 3 ай бұрын
Wow, almost 30 MPG on an Aurora is amazing! I would definitely take the aurora over the Lincoln for a drive like that but again worried about that head gasket haha

The suspension does not just include shocks and struts. You should also have the bushings, tie rods, and ball joints checked as well. It is useless to pay for and have a car alligned that has worn out bushings.

We finally test drove a loaded 2020 Mkz Reserve 2.0T. It was nice and luxurious but it had the ebony interior. 44-k mi… $19,9-k …It didn’t have the amount of space we hoped for but The Continental does. However… the base model Conti’s have that 3.7 water pump liability BUT the mid to top trims have the 2.7 & 3.0 with the cheaper water pump replacement. It’s been 9 months since I started my homework on Lincolns. I could have (and almost) fell into a trap with a 3.7 or 3.5 MKS or MKZ with that expensive water pump replacement if I hadn’t done homework on Lincoln.

Good for you for doing your homework. I wish a lot of other people were like you. I'd look into a 3.0 continental 😉

@@321verykind I would definitely love to have a 3.0 Continental but they only ever seem to turn up in Black Label and those are, of course, the nicest… but they’re just way too expensive even though they’re used.

I love these Lincolns. BUT… I’m awfully afraid of Hybrids and 4 cylinders. In the U.S. the insurance is heavily worse for Hybrids (but especially ev’s) but most of all… I always sense an anemia from 4 cylinders. They don’t like to live as long as v6 or v8’s. Lincoln made a massive win manufacturing the MKZ. I especially like the luxurious Cappuccino interiors with the panoramic roof. The wood appliqués are prettier in the ebony interior though
@321verykind
@321verykind 3 ай бұрын
Interesting didn’t know about the heavy insurance. That’s true with turbo 4 cyclinder, they dont last as long as the v6 and v8 but if you have a naturally aspirated 4 cyclinder like in the lincoln mkz, it will last as long as a v6 and v8.

You make a valid point about the insurance and registration costs of owning a hybrid vehicle. It seems that authorities impose higher taxes on these eco-friendly cars as if they view electric vehicles and hybrids as luxury items with a hefty price tag. This perspective may explain why insurers often total these cars after an accident; by doing so, they avoid the potentially high costs of dealing with various repair issues that could arise from foreign components and complex systems when the vehicle sustains damage.
@Travis25601

@@Quadirmiller it’s the weight. THEN… I learned from the insurance that rates are higher in general for ANY regular ice vehicle, too… just because we share the road with such heavier vehicles now. That just seemed unfair.
@Quadirmiller
@Quadirmiller 3 ай бұрын
I had no idea! It's fascinating to learn that they are highlighting how the weight of the vehicle contributes to road damage despite the fact that they are considered clean-energy vehicles.

@@Quadirmiller they’re so heavy that when they run into anything, including other cars but also buildings… the damage is so, so much worse. The replacement of an EV is so much more expensive and the batteries are, too. They know it’s not actually clean energy. They still have to be plugged in and they have to burn lots of natural gas to supply the energy. I wanted EV’s to work out, too. They just made everything so much more expensive. The car price, the insurance is way worse, no plugin infrastructure and it’s not putting any dents into the atmosphere. They just meant $$$

The two cars that you have the Ford and the Tesla those cars are really bad get rid of ASAP but keep the Aurora car. I’ll keep on going and going and going if you maintain it and do the maintenance.
