That fillet was huge but the weight comes out to a normal 3 cod fillet fish fry from upper midwest states in America. The things you call chips we call fries they give no where near as many as you had there. However they also serve fish dinners with Cole slaw, 2 slices of buttered Marble rye bread and 2 potato pancakes. Then there apple sauce and sour cream for potato pancakes. Lemon wedge and tarter sauce for fish.

You should visit Hastings and have the freshly caught fish and stunning chips in the old town. It’s incredible. Hastings is a historic Cinque Port so fishing is in its DNA. Plus, battle of 1066 and all of that!

How was the flavor and texture? I had fish and chips in London a couple times,and it was always sub par. Every place I've had it in the US has been much more tender and the fish just melts. Maybe I went to the wrong places in London.

I don't know about curry and gravy with fish and chips, mushy peas a deffo. But you are missing the lemon on the fish, slices of bread for a fish and chip butty hehe (might be a northern thing born in Sunderland, brought up in Newcastle, and now live in Durham) And of course some tartare sauce to go with the fish. Amazing job on demolishing this, you must have some hollow legs to squeeze it down to lol. I get a portion a little smaller than this and us two fish from my local Dillon's, but I always have a bit left for the poochie as I get full, he loves the cod but doesn't eat the chips until the next day, the little weirdo he is ROFL.
