So I keep stopping it at 2:32 when you pretend dry heave after eating the pulpo. I die of laughter every. single. time.

Mr. Efren Gonzalez, Thank you for sharing these videos, so eloquently filmed with a personal touch of commentary and good fun humor. I have a friend that has just retired and is walking the El Camino de Santiago in April of this year. It is many years before I retire, and yet somehow I want to find a way to take this pilgrimage. My family and I do a lot of hiking and backpacking in the Seven Devils in Idaho, Sawtooths, and the Wallowa Wilderness area in Oregon. Ther is something therapeuitc and meditative about trekking, a oneness one experience with the rhythms of the earth after several days. This translated in your videos and inspired me to find a way. Half way through I asked my wife if you get as much from the adds if I skip them. She thought not, so I quit skipping them. Your work is professional, inspiring, and personable without revealing too much. I hope that you can continue on your journey of inspiring others through your work now and into the future. I recently finished reading a book of a professor I had in college, Beyond the Clouds by Phil Druker. At the time he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and was’t sure how long he would live. He died in 2013 after writing the book in 2008 and hiking the Dolphins region in Nepal with friends. The last paragraph of his book says, “If I learned anything, it is all like trekking. Step. Step. Breathe. Step. Step. Breathe. One step, one breath after the other. Look where you put each step. Focus. Look where you’re going. Be aware. Be compassionate. Be loving. Be patient and equanimous. Be happy. Overcome your anger and greed. Deal with reality, not your fears, your delusions. Each breath, each step counts.” Thank you again Mr. Efren Gonzalez. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors. Scott Nelson

I binge watch your journey this weekend. Yo soy Cubana and I arrived in Santiago on September 28, 2016. Your videos are outstanding. They are full of information and I love your outlook. You remind me so much of my baby brother (34 yrs old). I return to Santiago this Spring. I wish I could create a masterpiece like yours!

I got to Santiago de Compostela on the 2nd of July 2017, and was a disappointed about the external scaffolding. However I was more disappointed this year on the 10th of June 2019 and the refurbishment was internal and my wife could not witness the beautiful mass. Nevertheless we got to visit Saint James, the Camino organisation is getting ready for 2021 year I think. Camino is more about journey and the peregrinos you share it with, bella Espana

Your filming of this journey is one of the best i have seen. I have viewed every offering.. I especially enjoyed the drone shots of the villages. It was very helpful and informative showing your expenses along the way.

Thanks for a nice hike along El Camino. Your movies provided inspiration. I have previously cycled from Helsingborg in Sweden to Pamplona but maybe I should take the last bit per foot.

Just a quick point. If you wander to the front seats there are benches which are reserved for pilgrims that have their compestela. Nobody checked whether we'd brought ours with us but I think the heavy walking boots and hiking gear showed that we'd earned our seat at the table!

Thank you so much for your Vlog on el camino. I'm looking foward to going there next spring. It's going to be impossible not to remember all the tips I've got from you. But I can't remember if you really told us what to wear while sleeping in the albergues. Did you sleep in the same clothes you used to walk?
@Walk_with_Efren5 жыл бұрын
thank you Fernanda. I would wear the next day clothes but slept in my underwear inside my sleeping bag.

A fantastic set of videos. Thanks. Are you filming all the videos on your own? Some of the shots, like shots of you from the back, look difficult to do with the drone.
@Walk_with_Efren7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes I film everything myself with the help of a drone and a mini tripod.

What was your total cost for the trip?
@Walk_with_Efren4 жыл бұрын
Hi Raisa, The total cost, on the trail, can be found in the journey video. I had extra expenses in Fisterra, Santiago, train ticket to Madrid, hotel for a few days, and the round trip airfare to the States. I say somewhere around $3,000.
