The built in kickstand angle is a fixed at 50 degrees. Up to 20% more power can be output by selecting the actual date and latitude optimal angle.The 500 will only input 3.5A maximum at 18 volts for 63 watts. Some of the excess power from the panel can be fed into a USB battery bank, charged directly from the panel while also charging a 500. This will allow you to harvest as much as 63 + 15 = 78 watts.If this panel is used to charge a larger device, such as the power station, then its full output potential can be realized.

I've been looking at this kit via the manufacturers website recently but it states it comes with SAE Connectors for the connections to the solar panel and that throws me a little as i want to power a shed mains light or a small chest freezer but i suspect i'll need a bigger kit & an inverter as SAE connection cables are hard to source,also saw a video of a usb lampholder & bulb plugged into the front usb

Mine did not come with SAE connectors. I had to buy some so I could use it on my shed and unplug when I wanted to.

Keep in mind this is only 12volts DC with only 10 watts of charging output in the best of conditions. The calculation for watts is Amps X Volts to = Watts. So this unit would only "produce" about 1.2 amps or approximately 1 mA (milliamp) .

Yes. You can turn the load connections off using the little black button. There is option to wire up something like a light to the load pins which can be switched on and off using the load switch. When the load switch is turned off the LED goes off. I appreciate this is an old comment but I was wondering the same before buying the kit.

Yes, if you connect the socket to the battery it would be the same as in a car. I have done this to run an inverter that required the lighter type plug.

I soldered wires to my panel, whats on it was too short, put a socket to plug it in, on the side of my van, and installed the controller inside by where it comes in, tying it to the rear battery for my wheelchair lift, the panel sits on my roof when in use, of coarse I finished at dark, so no way to test it, but the controller wont set at 4 lights for a conventional battery, and the load light was lit for some reason, there is nothing on the 3rd terminal marked light. I have rather heavy gauge wires on the panel as they are for a solar setup, obviously larger panels.

I had to add wires and a plug to mine too. I have a video I need to edit and upload. For the battery type, did you push and hold the button? It takes a while to set. Also, the load light will come on even with no load if that same button was pressed. It’s a toggle on and off to provide power for the load.

@@bayviewbasecamp1542 Yeah, I got 3 lights, just thought it was not holding the setting, went out today, saw the light on indicating the solar panel was working, need to buy another volt meter, current one is in my van which is in the shop, been there a month, they seem to use it to decorate their lot, not working on it at all. If I ever get my other van back, I'm going to add the same to it, has an AGM battery in the rear of it. Waiting on magnets to secure the panel on my roof, I can reach it sitting on the wheelchair lift, tired of removing it before driving, will blow off right now. I've put nothing on the bulb side, not sure I want anything on there, maybe an LED in the future, not sure yet.

These panels are junk. They barely output an amp. You need atleast 2.5 amps to trickle charge a car battery. If they put out 4amps , then we are talking. Its a chinese scam. Not even enough to charge a phone
