Really nice to see one picked finally👍Awesome job picking it. Your analysis and the rest of the video was very clear and interesting to watch. Thanks a lot of sharing it 👍

There was at least one previous picking. I know CaptainHookNumber1 did it, and I think someone else (who I unfortunately can't remember) did too. I think they took the videos down though and have been advising UrbanAlps on improvements.

@@DoktorWeasel I also heard it was picked before. I didn't see it before though, and thoroughly enjoyed the detailed video you did about it. Thanks!

Seems like they could improve pick resistance if they could somehow block the sidebar ends of the levers against picking; maybe design the core with two slots so that flat pieces of metal could be inserted from the sides to cover the part of the lever not manipulated by the key? This would prevent your technique of picking from only a single side, meaning you'd need to somehow tension in the middle, or tension both sides temporarily while swapping over? That ought to make the lock substantially harder to pick I think. Anyway, thanks so much for posting this video! Found about these locks from BosnianBill's video but he was reviewing the padlock version, and the core for that doesn't have a clip so he couldn't disassemble it (or at least, didn't want to risk destroying it in the attempt, since he was giving it away in a contest). Good to be able to see closely inside.

That's an amazing looking lock, I really like the key too.... Looks like it would be great to powder your nose too. 🤣🤣

Agree. Awesome for key control, it would require an x-ray image to “see” that biting, and there would be overlap if not at the right angle, not very impressionable, and good luck filing. Reminds me of the Australian “BiLock,” but with shrouded key bitting.

@bosnianbill I think this is probably very similar to how the padlock version works but it can be gutted. Pretty cool.

Great video and such a pity this extraordinary key and lock doesn't have more security features

Very ingenious of you to make a pick that can pick both left & right "levers" from one side (Stealth Key calls them "rotating steel discs"). Your comment on tension "adjustment" by lifting of pushing down on plug is well noted for precise "finesse" Also well noted the zero, mid, and max lift states -- Would those be easy to detect in a blind pick? Very well explained and picked. CaptainHookNumber1 would be proud of you.
@legendofthesamurai4 жыл бұрын
If you know what feedback to look for, the states of the levers are quite straightforward to detect. Zero-lift levers start out in the true gate and pass the wiggle test immediately, mid-lift levers initially bind and click into the true gate, which again passes the wiggle test, and the max-lift levers start in a false gate but will bind solidly once the mid-lifts are set. After that it's just a matter of finding the setting order to get out of the false gates.

Very interesting. I could imagine if they made the angle the key forms larger, they might get a few more bitting heights out of it, but they would need to squash the mechanism at the bottom.
@Rockrewls3 жыл бұрын
Well done, it seems this lock is excellent no one could pick it in a real world application, they would sooner attack the shackle or lock body.

As so often with these exotic locks, it's probably not worth getting for your house, for several reasons: 1) 170€ fo the half cylinder, 190€ for the full cylinder! (at the time of googling) 2) If you lose the key, you're homeless because no locksmith is going to be able to pick that. 3) Any intruder will probably just smash the back window. I'd probably say for a front door, a disc detainer or slider lock will do nicely, something that a locksmith will probably have the tool to pick if needed, but a thief will most likely not have the tool or skills to do so.

Hmmm.. by the look of those rockers, one could do a denial of service attack by taking a small screwdriver and hammer to bend them laterally, rendering this expensive lock useless.

I would say the amount of time it has taken professionals to pick this lock, it is going to be "pick proof" by someone of average to low skill.
