Why not use copper busbars instead of all those wires to connect the capacitors? Would cut down on time and allow you to stack them easily.
@fss1704
@fss1704 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and i would stack these capacitors with a 5 6 formation, then solder the wires in a cross pattern and solder another 2 wires to each 5 6 going straight trough each side just to be sure and get both high current and high mechanical strenght in the smallest area possible.
@fss1704
@fss1704 5 жыл бұрын
think about that after the 5 capacitors you have to provide more wire to connect to far apart capacitors, increasing inductance and gettng more loss, in big parallel packs of lithium i generaly cross from one side to another then just solder a straight wire to each up and down side.

I hope I'm not misreading the title: 33 kF ultracapacitor bank with a discharge capacity of 20.9 kA. At a nominal voltage of 2.7V per capacitor with a capacity of 3 kF, 20.9 kA would allow for a momentary power output of 56.4 kW. The only consolation to this kind of power is that at 2.7V, the voltage is so low that you have no risk of being electrocuted as the voltage is no more than a well-used over-the-counter drug store CR2032 button cell battery. However, there is no wire in the world that could practically be made to be able to safely handle 21 kA of current, except as a piece of wiring in an industrial-grade fuse at a ChargePoint station.

A lot of people here don't understand what a capacitor is good for and that they can only store a little bit of energy, even these big ones. A capacitor like this one, 3000F 2,7V can deliver 3000A for 1 second. Or 3000/3600=0,83A for one hour. So the enegy stored is only 3000/3600×2,7=2,25Wh. So you can not use it as a battery for an ebike. The only advantage over a battery is that you can charge and discharge it realy quick. So you can pull a lot of power from it for a very short period of time. And also you can not die from 2,7v even if the power supply can deliver thousands of amps. Look up Ohms law and you will understand what I mean. If 20ma is deadly, your body resistance has to be 2,7/0,02=135 Ohm. Even soaked in water your resistance will be much more than that!

in euros 1 maxwell supercapacitor costs about 30 bucks pop x 11 = 330 euros... a supercaoacitor bank to run a house you might spend half the price you would pay for an AGM battery with 130/150 amps... folks tell me whom is still convince today that cars cannot run without gasoline? if there's still any.. few days ago i read a comment on a video dated 2019 there was a guy that was still convinced that cars couldn't run niether with electricity nor hydrogen.. i wonder that guy that was convinced cars couldn't run without gasoline was being paid by oil companies to say so? he or his parents were working for oil companies or big E companies? he or his parents were investing on oil or big E companies? well one thing i am sure....he hasn't answered yet when i asked him if he was paid to say as much nor if he or his family were working or investing in oil companies or big E companies.. so my point is be honest and admit that you are a capitalist or capitalists pay you to say bullshit... since he hasn't provided me with an answer what he says to me its just a lie...

I did same one but with 12 caps . And every 2 in serials . 5.2v it give a big impact . But to charge it you need a charger with constant current and constant voltage . I calculated what you need . You need for every battery a 2.7v with 1 amp as safe life for your capacitor so for 10 capacitor you need 2.7v with 10amp . If you don't have a power supply with constant volt/ current you can use the 3.3v from the computer power supply but you need to add a diod 20A with resistance 100w ( diod for remove 0.7 v from the 3.3 and the resistance for controller the current charge

Why 2.7V 1A ? This caps are capable to take more than 10A charging current or maybe even higher than that.. so if you have 10 caps you'll need around 150A 2.7V ( 100mV +- ) and you'll be safe enough but just make sure that the caps are charging parallel to each other otherwise you'll need a balance charging controller. AND the last thing is to prevent short circuit because you can easily burn your house in minutes ( But caps 'll be okay anyways because you can discharge these caps from 2.7V to 0V in less than half a second )
