Reminds me of toilets on RVs and boats. Makes me wonder if they were installed to save water?

Microphor Microflush toilets. They also were made in porcelain. These are also common at rest areas in western Montana.

Awesome! Now that I think of it I'm pretty sure this actually was in western Montana. It was on HWY 93 right at the Idaho/ Montana border.

It’s a stainless steel Microphor toilet

Interesting! I had heard of that Brand but never seen one before.

These are very unique but they don't function well as a toilet. There used to be some like this at a rest area off I-75 but they were replaced with newer priolos.

These are microphor toilets and they're quite terrible imo. But these seem quite decent.

Microphor Microflush toilet, just lovely. The NY DEC parks in the Adirondacks had a lot of these but they have all recently been pulled and replaced with flushometer toilets
@plumbingstuffinoregon247110 ай бұрын
Cool! Do you know what the benefit of having these is?
@toiletsroc10 ай бұрын
@@plumbingstuffinoregon2471 They were introduced in the 1960’s as the first true water saving toilet, using as little as a quarter a gallon per flush. They were ideal for park restrooms and rest stops in remote locations which operated off of septic systems, so they had to be emptied less frequent. Many of the DEC restroom buildings that were built in the 60’s had leach field systems so it was a smart choice indeed. But as time progresses, the reliability of these fixtures go down due to their dependency on electrical components and they had to be replaced Correction: the Adirondack park DEC regulations did not allow Leach fields to be used in many areas so they had regular septic tanks. Makes even more sense to have low usage toilets there!

@@toiletsroc That's awesome, thanks for the info! Given the location of this place I would guess that these are on a septic tank, so these toilets make a lot of sense.

They must be on septic
@Makesdonsdonsoney3 ай бұрын
It can't be , because this is a public restroom, they have to have public sewage or else septic tank will over flow
@bathroomenthusiast5949Ай бұрын
@@Makesdonsdonsoney I have seen rest stops on a septic tank that have leach fields and if they are not allowed to have leach field then they will have microphore toilets or the tank will have to be a lot or you would not be allowed to flush the toilet too many times or the rest stop will have to close a lot when the tank is full. thats why you should use the bathroom at home before going to your destination because you might not find anymore bathrooms until you get to your destination because a lot of the gas stations at the exit in a community with homeless people in the streets don't have a public restroom and I won't rely an a fast food restaurant like McDonald's anymore because they could have the dining room closed with the doors locked and only have the drive thru open. and there might not be any rest stops open for the whole entire trip, and for men the only place for men to go to the bathroom is the ground, meaning the woods or the side of the road and women would be out of luck and have to wait until they get to their destination because unless a woman can figure out how to go on the ground, they would have to wait until they can get to their destination or find a gas station or a fast food place that has a bathroom, because most women don't go outside and I don't know that many women that can go on the ground and most people say they don't or they can't, but I can't believe everything people say because not everything people say is true.
