This took countless attempts with the same squad. We tried to surpass it but lightning didn't strike twice. Our second best total was 328. Getting 70 on Grillers was like a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence and I our squad was the only one of two to reach 70 without using specials.

I’m not a bad player and with my time I enjoy reading on how to improve my game. And yes my in game name is the same.

​@@Turb08 Well that's a relief. For a second there you sounded like someone who's full of themselves because that's how they usually talk. Finding a team in Salmon Run can be difficult because it's still a small community. Finding 3 people with the same motivations, same play times, and similar enough skill level will likely take time and a huge amount of effort, especially socially. Making a positive name for yourself in the right communities can help to make others want to play with you or get recognized.

Stuff like this moves the goal post even further out of reach but sadly, that's just how the "top 5%" thing is. I hope the devs realize their mistake and change this.

That isn't how it works. All that matters is where the 5% breakpoint is - individual scores don't change the breakpoint. The Top 5% threshold wouldn't have been different if every team within it got the same score; likewise, #1 could've got 999 eggs and it wouldn't have changed either.
