I've never understood why the Invictus Games would be held in the US. We have the *original* Warrior Games here, and have no need or desire for anything connected with the grifter prince and his keeper.

The Invictus Games were seen as a chance for the rest of the World’s veterans to compete in sports competitions. The Warrior Games was designed for US veterans. They were never in competition and really it is a complement to the work of the Warrior Games.

Agreed, but it does not mean the US is the best place to host the games. Invictus might like it because they want the US government funding. What’s another $50M when you are $34T in debt. We Brummies (Birmingham residents) are long used to unfair comments about our vibrant and friendly city. We are suffering from the historic foolishness of our city council, and the current financial woes have been caused by a huge fair pay dispute that has led to the need for massive pay outs, but the recovery plan is in place. We have all of the infrastructure from hosting the Commonwealth Games, which were a huge success, and visitors and competitors alike loved the atmosphere and the warm welcome they received. There was so much enthusiasm and excitement for those Games, and I am sure that there will be strong support for the veterans and big crowds for Invictus. I also think madame would be in no danger at all; we have much better manners than she does. With any luck Invictus will no longer be associated with Harry by 2027. It's certainly a power move to bring it back to the UK and not let the Harkles have it all their own way in the States. Who knows, if Harry is no longer involved, we might get to see the Wales family instead, which would be wonderful. Prince William is an adopted son of the city as an Aston Villa supporter, and he's often here.

My daughter lives in Birmingham and so I visit. I think Birmingham residents what ever they think about the financing will be very welcoming to the veterans. They however will see Harry and Meghan for what they are and may well be less welcoming to them especially Madam. Brummies are down to earth and can't stand upperty, superior behaviour and tantrums so she might find she is shunned and they meet with disapproval from people.

I love these cards. I love the orange tabby in so many of them. I have a visiting (daily) orange tabby, farm cat we’ve named Louie. He sleeps all morning on our porch, peers in the front door, through the glass and drives the little dog crazy. He’s curious about inside our house but knows he loves his outdoor freedom more. I lived in the North of England for a while. The people are generally warm, welcoming and friendly but very blunt and truthful. They don't suffer fools gladly and don't like snobbery. If Migraine turns up with her Vindictive games it is unlikely she will be booed but she might just get a magnificent British silence. We are too polite to boo we just ice you.
