The water content makes sense to me. Artist Loft probably watered their product down to save money. I hate it when you find something that works and then they change it or discontinue it!! UGH! I feel the frustration you've had. Thank you for figuring it out for all of us and sharing the info. YOU ARE APPRECIATED!! Those colors are absolutely stunning!

Yeah😊👍👏👏👏!! I’m so glad you figured it out 👏👏👏!!!! Thank you so much for all your work at doing these tester paintings, very much appreciated😊🙏👍❤️!!! I have 4 brand new bottles of white I was afraid to open, because I didn’t want to end up with all those tiny white cells!! This painting turned out gorgeous, even though it’s on a smaller canvas, you still ended up with some negative space😊👍!! I love the cells that appeared as time went by (the kind of cells we all like to see in a Dutch Pour😊👍❤️👏)!!! Looking forward to your next video😊👍👏!!!

It seems the manufacturer of your base didn't EXACTLY change their formula, but I would guess they have added more water. With limited supplies as well as the COST of those supplies increasing because of Covid, they must have thought it wouldn't change anyone's outcome....wrong!!! As a ceramicist I have dealt with so many formula changes it would frighten you. I'm so glad you've found your solution!!

I am glad you figured it out Kanella ! You're awesome ! I'm still pretty new. However, I used Amsterdam Titanium White a couple months ago with your ratios for a dutch pour and I got really big white cells. So the whole time I was thinking NO don't switch to that...lol. Amsterdam is great paint but I was totally confused as a newbie why I got these really big cells. I already had it mixed up and used it in a tree swipe, same result. Cells are great but I didn't want big ones in my dutch pour or tree swipe.

So amazing that you are experimenting and finding your way out..Thank you for sharing with us I really appreciate it 😍 So happy it worked for you 😉 I recommend you try an Amsterdam white base though, just to see you the difference in the brightness of colors and the beautiful smoky effects. I switched from AL to Amsterdam white after I saw how the colors reacted differently and became super bright and they had a great smoky effect. Just sharing my thoughts 😁 but of course if you are happy with AL why not 😊💞
