The outer layers plastic I cut out just served to make the reverse corner cutting smoother but it doesn't do that much on the hong because its outer layers are already good. What I did to its inner layers (the removal of the thing that sticks out from the midge to the wing) is also not very necessary because it just serves to make the inner layers as fast as the outers due to less contact area. So what I recommend and what I did to my 2nd Hong was just cutting out triangle shaped plastic pieces from the inner wing that makes contact with the middle edge. This is enough for the inner layers to not be slow compared to the outers. The triangle shape is because I did it with a flush cutter so it only takes 2 cuts to remove plastic which is very time efficient
