34 Ford: Complete 60's driveline repair and refresh

I gotta do that same repair to one of my frame horns. Looks my plan is pretty much the same as the way you tackled it… anything you’d do differently looking back?

So I had three things going on there. One was the dent from that bumper bracket....I heated and hammered out as it's a heavier gage material than typical. Being that it's two ply for 33-34 results are (as good as your comfortable with). Then the crease and resulting stretch material above and below the crease is why I sliced it and welded it. Finally pulling it in...that was a 2ft pipe wrench so I generated alot of force and held it there while welding....probably could have anchored that offending end to something a got a more consistent pull on it. I didn't have a nearby pull point and winged it. With another approach I could have paused and measured ect.

Hey Larry, looks like the five window is moving forward. That front cross member took a real beating from someone. Anyway, I have an original 34 front cross member that needs work but is repairable. As with all 34 front cross members the spring will crack or punch through the cross member as has happen with the one, I have. Would you be interested in it for $75.00? If so let me know. We're only about 2hrs apart if you want to make the drive? I'm in S/E Louisiana.

Thanks Bill...I have a busted up one from the 34 tudor I pulled from a barn awhile back I could repair but I don't see the 34 model year ones doing me any favors getting the car to set lower. It would be counterproductive to use one here. Believe ill have to decline. Do appreciate your reach out! Merry Christmas
