The lock-n-lube fitting really works well for me. Actually frees up a hand and eliminates the “sticking to the zerk” problem.

I bought the same single handed new grease gun you did 2 years ago. Modest improvement to my dad’s old one I had. Still dreaded the messy temperamental task. This spring I bought a Lock n Lube and a Dewalt battery powered gun. Now, not only are all my machines greased very regularly (for the first time in their lives) but I’m done in no time and would gladly grease all the neighbour’s machines for them if they wanted! Totally a game changer! There is 1 zerk on each of my ATVs that needs the old gun (with a 90 degree fitting on the end that I battle with) but everything on the lawn tractor, zero turn, tractors, grapple, log splitter, wood chipper, side by side and the majority of the ATV zerks are all done with ease thanks to the Lock n Lube and that Dewalt gun. Definitely one of my best tool purchases ever! (At least that’s what my happy machines all tell me)

When I was a new Kubota owner a few years ago I went with a pistol style grease gun and as others recommended - Lock n Lube! My wife bought me a Milwaukee battery powered gun for my birthday - that with the L&L coupler is awesome! a few seconds per zerk...

Lock N Lube is the way to go. I have had grease gun get stuck and almost not release from a fitting and I have a rear blade on my tractor that has a fitting deep inside that I couldn't get to if not for the long reach Lock N Lube. I am not associated with Lock N Lube, just a happy customer.

Hello, We are just coming up to 100 hours on our B2601. We have ordered the grapple, but looks like it won't arrive until February, something to look forward to. The first time I used the grease gun on the tractor, I had a terrible time. It got stuck on every fitting. I bought a lock and lube fitting, the longer one, and greasing has been a breeze. You are a little bit ahead of me with your tractor, so I have been learning alot from your videos. Thank you for the work you are doing , putting out these videos. Ben from Nova Scotia

i bought the Lock N Lube fitting and found it works in most places. As you noticed, it is a little bit large for the tighter areas. I also bought the 90-deg coupler to help in those tight corner spots. I haven't moved on to an electric gun yet and probably won't for now. I did buy a nice air-driven model that uses compressed air and it works great so far. So much easier to simply pull a trigger instead of a pump handle. Recommendation - also pick up a flexible and quality-made hose so you are not wrestling with it. Your smileage may vary, of course.

I use spray grease for things like the balls on the three point arms. Several companies make it now like WD40, liquid wrench, etc and you can find it just about everywhere... auto parts, Home Depot etc. It comes in spray cans usually with the little plastic straw, and is called gear and chain lube. Most of it is clear, which helps reduce the mess.
@khtractors4 жыл бұрын
Great content! I’ve used hundreds of tubes of grease but still enjoyed the explanation of installing a new tube in the gun. Also I’ve had them get stuck like you did in the video, not sure what happens to cause this. I’ve got an air setup for a 5 gallon bucket of grease that I need to get put together and try. Have a good day!

👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🙏🏻 Enjoyed! Always been able to adjust grease gun end such that it goes on and off easy. One zerk that is easy to miss is on the front end axle pivot point under the front end of the tractor (Kubota L3200). And before you grease it there is a small cap/plug across from the zerk that you MUST REMOVE before greasing, it prevents pressure on the seal keeping you from blowing out the seal. You put grease in until it comes out the plug!😊

I have what looks to be the exact same grease gun u just got. And yes. The nozzle that came on it was useless. I could not get it on good some time and could not get it off others. Bought another similar nozzle and same so I got one like you showed with the thumb lever. It works much better but still have to push hard sometimes to keep it attached and is bulky in tight spaces. It cost more than the gun but worth it as many grease fittings as are on a tractor.

Its definitely an extravagance but I went and got a dewalt electric grease gun. Lashed out for the lock and lube like most people in the comments. The only thing I can say against it is its hard to use on uni joints. The dewalt doesn't take Australia's bigger cartridges. Have to go find the smaller American ones. But that's led me to bying in bulk so not all bad
@MyClutteredGarage4 жыл бұрын
I used to think a battery operated grease gun was overkill. But I’m thinking I’d like one. Interesting that the cartridges aren’t universal.

@jackhutchins71354 жыл бұрын
Look at the tip of the grease fitting hose, you will see where you can screw the tip tighter or looser, it will be tight at first, you may have to break it free at first with pliers, just leave it loose, insert it on the grease zerk then tighten it back up by hand and start greasing, when finished loosen (un-screw) the tip a little and it will come off easily. No more busted knuckles!
