Slipspace was just the Halo 3 engine where they kept bolting on stuff. In theory its supposed to handle shooters better than Unreal but when you have to keep pulling your senior devs off projects to update the game engine, you can't actually finish making a game. Some people over at Ninja Theory are helping them with this engine so it should turn out good.

Halo infinites problem was not the gameplay . It had millions of people Playing it when it first dropped . What killed that game was a completely lack of content and poor technological launch. The game didn’t get a new season for a year and the first season had very few unlocks and only 6 or so ranked maps. People got bored of playing . They didn’t even have a slayer playlist .

They launched that game bit by bit so people couldn't be bothered waiting. Especially when you think of all the content that was ready to be played with Halo 3 straight out the box.

I don’t see anything wrong with the gameplay they added a run button and the grapple hook was fun to use. Halo infinite has the best gameplay in the series imo the main issue with the campaign was the lack of biomes and story was mid. Just like COD if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

The name 343 studios was also based off halo. It was given the name based off the monitor of the first halo ring 343 guilty spark. So the name thing has always been that way

theyve been trying to capture that younger audience for the entire 343 tenure and look how it turned out, 4 was trash, 5 did something but so polarizing, if anything going back to basics would make Halo more approachable to newcomers the problem is that they think basic means plain

How to fix halo: 1. Get rid of Bosses in the campaign. 2. Have more vehicle levels. 3. Make all weapons play like they did in halo 1-3 and infinite. 4. Simply the online. All we care about is team slayer and capture the flag. 5. No more new characters. They brought nothing to the game. 6. Make legendary difficulty setting more than just weakening master chief and making enemies bullet sponges.

halo 4 was well made but not a good halo campaign mp was cod 5 was bad from story and the mp was too comp focused(no one gaf bout esports) infinite half baked campaign, good mp but dry on content Each game after people don't like the campaign they reboot the story

It's a good engine. The problem is how Microsoft handles employees. They mostly get temporary people for cheaper costs. The problem is that slipspace is mainly for in-house. If people are leaving and joining, they won't have enough time to learn the engine and get better using it. Moving to unreal engine 5 helps people make it easier to program. People coming in don't have to learn an in-house engine.

Unreal engine 5 is garbage it's nowhere near the decima, cry engine or fox engine at all. Unreal engine 5 is terrible with optimization.

Halo 5 gameplay wise was better than halo infinite. Ground pound, boost, dodging, the ram mechanic and the hovering was a step forward of how the series evolve. Spartans in the novels and shows are described to be fast big behemoths that combat the elites.

What I think about all of this is: Halo is dogshit and finally they accepted that their engine was trash. Halo will come to PS5 to rescue the fanchise from dying because no one is playing that dogshit game.

Funny how much money and time they wasted trying to make their own engine. 🤣 Switching to UE5 is them admitting how much of a failure it is. I expect them to remake the other Halo games using UE5 now.

I just feel like Halo is dead at this point. Im not excited but i am curious seeing they’re changing everything so maybe this is for the better. I do feel like keeping it bare bones like the old Halo gameplay will not do it favors despite gamers asking for it. It would be DOA.

I'm not excited to see what they do, because I've already seen it. They've had 3 halo games and all three are trash. You can rename shit and call it gold, but it's still shit. Halo is dead. I'm 100% sure that the only thing they'll do is ramp up the monetization and turn halo into a call of duty clone.
